Role Overview:
Barco is looking for a Product Owner to work closely with stakeholders and software development teams to support product delivery within an Agile Program Team. The role focuses on translating business needs into clear requirements, refining the product backlog, resolving functional ambiguities, and ensuring that delivered features meet stakeholder expectations. The candidate should have strong technical acumen and be comfortable understanding complex systems while collaborating with engineering, design, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refine and prepare backlog items for development within the Program Team.
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
- Ensure backlog items are actionable, well-defined, and ready for implementation.
- Provide day-to-day requirement clarifications to development teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to deliver product increments.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Gather and clarify stakeholder requirements and align delivered functionality with business expectations.
- Communicate progress, scope clarifications, and functional decisions to relevant stakeholders.
- Validate delivered features against acceptance criteria and support functional testing.
- Identify functional gaps, resolve inconsistencies, and contribute to continuous process improvement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 12 - 18 years of total professional experience, including at least 5 years in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a similar Agile role.
- Experience working closely with software development teams in a technical environment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Experience using the Atlassian toolchain or similar tools.
- Ability to translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories.
- Technical understanding of complex systems, APIs, data flows, and software architectures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- A structured, detail-oriented, and collaborative approach to work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with technical or platform-based products.
- Understanding of software architecture concepts and integration patterns.
- Background in business analysis or functional analysis.
- Previous hands-on technical experience is an advantage but not mandatory.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
