About BarnTools LLC
BarnTools is modernizing animal agriculture through connected devices, intelligent sensors, and autonomous systems that make farms safer, smarter, and more efficient. Our flagship products include BarnTalk alarms and BinTalk feed sensors. We’re creating the nervous system of the farm - where every bin, barn, and gateway talks to each other, the cloud, and to our customers through industry leading web and mobile apps.
About The Role
- BarnTools is looking for a motivated Iowa State student with an agriculture background and an affinity for technology to join our team as a Customer Support & AgTech Intern.
- This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of agriculture, technology, customer support, and a growing startup environment. You will work directly with customers and our internal teams to troubleshoot problems, test products, analyze data, and identify opportunities to improve our solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers with technical questions, troubleshooting, product setup, and software configuration.
- Help customers use BarnTools hardware, mobile applications, and web-based software.
- Prepare and ship customer orders; some light physical activity is required.
- Assist with field testing, product deployments, and occasional customer visits.
- Analyze customer and product data to help identify issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with the BarnTools team to identify and implement product and process improvements based on customer feedback.
- Assist the Sales team with trade shows, exhibitions, demonstrations, and sales enablement activities.
- Communicate customer feedback and product issues to our Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success teams.
- Take ownership of problems and follow them through to resolution while striving to exceed customer expectations.
About You
- Currently pursuing a degree at Iowa State University, preferably with an agriculture, animal science, agricultural engineering, technology, or related background.
- Interested in the intersection of agriculture and technology.
- Comfortable working with technology and learning new software and hardware systems.
- Enjoy solving problems and helping people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, curious, organized, and willing to take on new challenges.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where every day can be different.
- Willing to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Most importantly, you are passionate about agriculture and want to help farmers and producers use technology to solve real-world problems.
What We Offer
- Hands-on experience with IoT technology, SaaS software, customer success, agricultural technology, data analysis, product testing, and the day-to-day operations of a growing AgTech company.
- An exciting, fast-paced work environment where your ideas can be acted on swiftly. We default to action!
- Be part of a team that is disrupting and transforming the industry every day. Connecting the world's farms will allow sweeping changes across the industry.
- Competitive pay
- BarnTools swag
- Advancement opportunities based on results, not politics
- Come join our growing team and get in on the ground floor of a special opportunity to bring innovative technology to those that feed the world!
