Under general direction from the Distribution Supervisor, and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, the incumbent is responsible for monitoring and aiding in picking, packing, VAS, Shipping, and Returns, while ensuring process runs smoothly and efficiently. Leads and works alongside associates to accomplish daily workload. Assists Supervisor with planning and assigning work instructions.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
- Plans and coordinates work assignments as delegated by the Supervisor, or when the Supervisor is unavailable.
- Monitors a team of assigned associates, providing assistance, guidance, and motivation to all warehouse staff.
- Works closely with the Supervisor and Distribution Center Leadership to ensure customer needs are being met.
- Trains full-time and temporary associates in essential job functions.
- Operates powered lift trucks to accomplish daily workload.
- Troubleshoots quantity discrepancies within departments.
- Notifies Supervisor of any discrepancy in number or types of products.
- Accurate use of a hand held scanner to virtually track the flow of product.
- Identifies and removes defective product from customer orders and partners with appropriate teams for replacements.
- Follows up with team to ensure accurate physical/virtual matches of all units received, pallets put-away, picked, packed and shipped.
- Ensures department is stocked with adequate supplies for associates to use.
- Participates in inventory audits.
- Works in direct path when business dictates.
- May be cross-trained in other distribution center job functions.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and tidy distribution center.
- Additional data entry and other projects/tasks assigned by leadership
Qualifications:
- High School- or equivalent and years of relevant and related experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in .a fast-paced distribution environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot, adapt to constantly changing environment, and make quick decisions.
- Experience in planning short- and long-term strategies.
- Work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Must extremely detail orientated.
- Able to juggle multiple priorities at one time.
- Ability to understand and follow all safety rules
- Operate designated machinery (with appropriate training)
- Read and understand work order instructions
- Ability to count correctly and do basic math
- Ability to work at heights of approximately 30 feet while correctly wearing provided safety harness
- Ability to lift items and boxes above head-height
- Ability to stand, crouch, and walk for several hours at a time
- Able to establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Identify problems, assess alternatives, and make consistent and logical decisions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), SAP, and Bauer products.
This position primarily works in a warehouse environment, which requires working on or around machinery, moving objects, and vehicles. Requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires awareness of surroundings and ability to focus and prioritize. Work hours vary and may require working early or late shifts during peak season.
