About the Role

We are seeking a Supply Chain & Operations Software Manager to improve supply chain performance and develop the software that supports it. This role combines supply chain expertise with hands-on software development, with a primary focus on procurement, material planning, inventory management, supplier performance, and production readiness.

The ideal candidate understands how materials, information, and decisions move through a manufacturing organization and can translate operational needs into reliable software, automation, and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead improvements to purchasing, material planning, inventory control, supplier management, and shortage resolution.
  • Identify supply risks and operational bottlenecks; implement solutions that improve material availability, delivery performance, and cost.
  • Own the roadmap for supply chain and operations software, prioritizing projects based on business needs and measurable impact.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal applications, integrations, and automation tools.
  • Improve ERP and MRP workflows and connect business systems to reduce manual work and strengthen data accuracy.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting for supplier delivery, inventory accuracy, material shortages, lead times, and purchasing performance.
  • Partner with procurement, production, engineering, quality, and finance to define requirements and implement solutions.
  • Establish processes for item records, bills of materials, purchasing data, inventory transactions, and other critical supply chain information.
  • Document software and processes, train users, and provide ongoing support.
  • Work with IT and compliance teams to maintain appropriate access controls and protect sensitive information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, information systems, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in supply chain, procurement, material planning, operations, or supply chain systems, including responsibility for process or system improvements.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, supplier performance, lead times, bills of materials, and ERP/MRP processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop and maintain software that solves business problems.
  • Familiarity with version control, software testing, troubleshooting, and deployment practices.
  • Ability to translate operational requirements into clear technical specifications and usable tools.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to balance ongoing supply chain needs with software development priorities.
  • Must meet the U.S. person.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience implementing, configuring, or extending ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience developing tools for purchasing, supplier tracking, inventory planning, or production scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Lean methods, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience leading projects, coordinating vendors, or mentoring team members.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Java.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, APIs, and business system integrations.
