Category Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

This position will be responsible for building and executing the growth agenda for digestive category, with clear accountability for consumer demand generation, sell-out growth, penetration, profitability, media effectiveness and in-market execution across retail, pharmacy, modern trade and e-commerce channels.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The primary responsibilities of this role, Category Manager, Digestive, CH Marketing as the owner of the assigned category/brand are to:
• Develop short-term and long-term category, brand and commercial plans built on consumer, shopper, customer and competitive insights to deliver topline, bottomline, market share, household penetration, trial and repeat objectives.
• Lead initiatives to scale or relaunch the brand(s), introduce relevant innovations, optimize price-pack architecture and build distinctive brand assets that improve consumer recruitment and frequency of use.
• Identify and prioritize growth opportunities for Bayer Consumer Health within the digestive health space, and develop them into compelling consumer propositions and scalable initiatives by combining deep local market and consumer insights with Bayer’s global science expertise.
• Track and analyze business performance across volume, value, sell-out, distribution, market share, penetration, profitability, media ROI, competitive activity and consumer research, and recommend agile corrective actions.
• Lead the execution and evaluation of integrated brand activity across advertising, media, digital, search, social, influencer, content, PR, promotions, sampling, pharmacy education, in-store visibility and e-commerce activations.
• Plan, deploy and track advertising, promotion and shopper budgets against strategic priorities, with discipline on ROI, reach, frequency, conversion and business impact.
• Partner closely with sales, trade marketing, e-commerce, revenue growth management and distribution teams to drive availability, visibility, recommendation, trial generation and fast response to market trends.
• Work closely with agency partners, regulatory, medical/legal, finance, supply and cross-functional teams to develop compliant, insight-led campaigns and execute brand activity systems with speed, quality and measurable outcomes.

WHO YOU ARE:

• Masters in Business Administration with 7 to 9 years of category/brand/marketing experience, preferably in FMCG, consumer health, OTC, or other high-velocity consumer categories. Preferably from a Tier 1/ 2 institute.
• Strong consumer insight, data analytics, commercial acumen, media and digital fluency, innovation execution, agency leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal, written and presentation) is a must
• Proactive, agile and commercially grounded, with the ability to convert consumer and market data into clear decisions, fast action plans and measurable business impact.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong execution discipline, comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced FMCG-style environment.
• Preferred qualification: Experience managing scaled consumer brands, OTC or digestive health portfolios, e-commerce growth, media effectiveness programs or consulting projects is a plus.
