Tax Analyst

We are seeking a Tax Analyst to join our Tax team. In this role, you will work closely with our Tax Specialist and Corporate Accounting team. The Tax Analyst will be primarily responsible for assisting in tax compliance, tax provisioning and tax projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with corporate accounting team and business units to obtain tax reporting and tax compliance information
• Assist in the preparation and review of tax returns (T1/T2/T3/T5/T5013)
• Where required, assist with the preparation of the consolidated tax provision and tax disclosure note to the financial statements
• Assist in the review and filing of GST/HST returns
• Review and prepare responses for GST/HST audits
• Liaise with CRA auditors and external auditors as required to facilitate inquiries and audits
• Assist with the calculation and coordination of monthly tax instalments
• Maintain tax attributes for the operating groups
• Assist with ad hoc tax research and analysis

Desired Skills and Experience

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, enrollment in the CPA program, or equivalent certification preferred
• 1-2 years’ of professional experience in taxation is preferred
• Strong work ethic and sense of responsibility and confidentiality
• Strong decision-making, communication (both verbal and written) and analytical skills
• Organized self-starter who is attentive to detail and able to work independently
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment
• Strong computer skills - TaxPrep, Microsoft 365, Yardi or other ERP system experience
