Linux TestOps Engineer

As a team member you will be working within engineers working on Linux, developing and supporting a product with the highest standards of the IT industry.You will work together with a team of Alpaquita Linux developers and will get the opportunity to improve the build and delivery process of Alpaquita Linux, an optimized Linux distribution that is tailored to work best with Liberica JDK, a Java Runtime. Your main responsibility is to ensure timely delivery of the product builds of Alpaquita Linux across a variety of platforms it supports.We're looking for a highly motivated, smart and talentedLinux Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery process.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to grow their problem-solving skills, deal with a variety of issues within various parts of the build and test process. We strive to automate all aspects of the product delivery, and improve the metrics as we go.

Main responsibilities:

• Maintain Alpaquita Linux distribution up-to-date with new open-source component releases, develop compatibility patches for open-source components

• Create and maintain apk Linux packages

• Support the quality of Alpaquita Linux products and components. Build and maintain the QA process.

• Develop infrastructure automation and tooling to support release cycles of Alpaquita Linux and quality assurance

• Support multiple Alpaquita Linux releases which include new platforms, features and security patches

• Manage product build environment (on-premise and in the cloud)

Requirements:

• BS/BA in Computer Science or equivalent;

• Advanced eExperience working with a Linux or other Unix-like distribution (Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Alpine Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris, etc.);

• Experience with scripting languages (such as Bash, Python, Ruby) and C;

• Experience with CI tools (such as Gitlab, Github, Jenkins, Atlassian);

• Experience with Git or Mercurial;

• Computer networking basics;

• Intermediate English level or higher;

• Relevant work experience as Linux package maintainer, Release Engineer, Software Tester or DevOps would be a plus.
