Senior IAM Operations Consultant 6 Months Contract

The IAM Operations Consultant will support day-to-day Identity and Access Management (IAM) operations and contribute to the stabilisation of IAM services as part of the NLP DK Strategy Roadmap.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for an experienced IAM professional who is comfortable operating in a complex enterprise environment and collaborating across IAM, Security, User Administration, Service Desk, and operational teams.

The consultant will provide operational capacity and support ad hoc IAM activities required to stabilise services, reduce operational backlogs, and support delivery against the programme roadmap and timeline.

Requirements

1. IAM Operational Execution

• Execute and support Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML) processes in line with established procedures.
• Manage IAM-related ServiceNow requests and incidents, including access, entitlements, role corrections, and related issues.
• Perform daily access and entitlement activities based on approved processes, controls, and runbooks.
• Support the investigation and resolution of operational IAM issues, escalating where required.
• Coordinate operational activities with Nordea User Administration and Service Desk teams.
• Provide operational backfill and execution capacity to support continuity and service stabilisation.

2. Security and Audit Support

• Prepare accurate, factual data and evidence to support security and audit activities, including:
• User and account listings
• Access and entitlement information
• Privileged access overviews
• Remediation evidence
• Support the identification and clean-up of excessive, obsolete, duplicate, or misaligned access.
• Execute remediation activities defined by IAM Governance or Security.
• Support audit and security requests by providing data and evidence within agreed timelines.

3. Operational Coordination and Service Stabilisation

• Follow established IAM processes, procedures, controls, and operational runbooks.
• Escalate IAM design, policy, security, compliance, and risk-related questions to the appropriate IAM Governance or Security Lead.
• Contribute to reducing manual workarounds and recurring IAM incidents.
• Support structured IAM backlog reduction and remediation activities.
• Identify recurring operational issues and provide input to improve processes and service stability.
• Collaborate effectively across IAM, Security, User Administration, Service Desk, and other relevant operational teams.
• Support ad hoc IAM activities and projects required as part of the NLP DK Strategy Roadmap.

Role Boundaries

This is an execution-focused operational role. The consultant will work under established direction from IAM Governance and/or the Security Lead.

The consultant will not:

• Define or own IAM policy, standards, or architecture.
• Make risk acceptance decisions.
• Own IAM governance decisions.
• Own audit conclusions or decisions.
• Define security or access-control strategy.

The consultant will support these functions by providing accurate operational execution, data, evidence, and remediation support when required.

Must-Have Knowledge and Experience

• Strong hands-on experience in IAM operations within a complex enterprise environment.
• Solid understanding of:
• Joiner, Mover and Leaver (JML)
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• Privileged Access Management (PAM/PIM)
• Practical experience with:
• Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD
• Microsoft Entra ID Workflows
• Microsoft Logic Apps
• Active Directory
• ServiceNow, particularly access requests and incident management
• Strong operational data analysis skills, particularly using Excel and CSV data.
• High attention to detail and a systematic approach to operational execution.
• Ability to work independently while operating within defined processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical, security, and operational teams.

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Experience working within regulated environments, particularly financial services or insurance.
• Experience supporting IAM clean-up and service stabilisation following go-live.
• Experience managing or reducing large IAM operational backlogs.
• Familiarity with legacy access models and complex enterprise entitlement structures.
• Experience supporting IAM remediation, access reviews, or audit-related activities.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise IAM transformation or stabilisation programmes.
