Software Engineer

This is not a feature-driven role. This position focuses on production reliability, performance engineering, distributed systems correctness, and platform ownership. You will serve as the technical authority ensuring our capital markets infrastructure remains highly available, low-latency, and fault-tolerant under extreme load.

The core responsibilities for the job include the following:

Platform Stabilization and Production Ownership:

• Act as the L3/L4 technical escalation point for critical backend and middleware systems.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and post-incident hardening for complex production outages.
• Diagnose and eliminate latency spikes, Kafka consumer lag, DB contention, memory pressure, and GC pauses.
• Transition the engineering culture from firefighting to systemic, long-term stabilization.

Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) Ownership:

• Own, define, and enforce platform benchmarks across throughput, high availability, fault tolerance, and backpressure handling.
• Identify and eliminate runtime risks, including lock contention, message ordering failures, retry storms, and resource exhaustion.

Distributed Systems and Event-Driven Architecture:

• Ensure correctness in Kafka event architectures: consumer group rebalancing, offset management, idempotency, dead-letter handling, and event replay.
• Architect and optimize high-throughput Golang microservices and low-latency APIs.

Data Tier and Real-Time Performance Tuning:

• Optimize PostgreSQL performance under high concurrency (query tuning, indexing, partitioning, and connection pooling).
• Design robust Redis caching strategies and work with OLAP telemetry pipelines (ClickHouse + Grafana).

Rule Engine Architecture and Productization:

• Architect configurable, high-performance in-memory rule engines to support dynamic, client-specific trading workflows without hardcoding business logic.

Codebase Takeover and Team Mentorship:

• Lead structured knowledge transfer and takeover of legacy codebases from external vendors.
• Mentor mid-level engineers (3-5 years' experience) on production debugging, concurrency patterns, and distributed systems thinking.

Requirements:

• Experience: 6-8+ years of core backend engineering experience with strong production exposure in fintech, trading, capital markets, or high-transaction systems.
• Golang Expertise: Deep, low-level proficiency in Go runtime behavior, memory profiling (pprof, trace), concurrency patterns (channels, goroutines, sync/atomic), and context propagation.
• Event Systems: Deep hands-on experience running Kafka in high-throughput production environments (consumer rebalancing, lag diagnostics, partitioning, and partitioning strategies).
• Database Optimization: Proven track record tuning PostgreSQL and Redis for low-latency, high-concurrency workloads.
• Incident Management: Direct experience owning live production incidents, conducting post-mortems, and engineering preventative fixes.

Strongly Preferred:

• Low-latency, high-frequency trading or exchange-integrated environment experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes production exposure (K8s debugging, resource limits, traffic management).
• WebSockets, real-time streaming architectures, or FIX protocol knowledge.
• Prior experience taking over, stabilizing, and refactoring vendor-built or legacy codebases.
• Exposure to distributed databases (e. g., CockroachDB).
