1. Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and innovative AI Software Lead Developer to lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of AI-powered software applications and business automation solutions.
The successful candidate will lead software development initiatives, oversee technical architecture, integrate large language models (LLMs) and AI technologies, and ensure the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable software products. The role will also involve guiding development team members and translating business requirements into practical AI-driven solutions for SMEs.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. AI Software DevelopmentLead the development of AI-powered SaaS platforms, web applications, and business automation systems.
Design and implement AI agents, chatbots, workflow automation, and intelligent business applications.
Integrate AI models and APIs, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and other relevant AI services.
Develop AI solutions for marketing automation, customer service, data analysis, and business operations.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend suitable tools and frameworks for product development.
Design scalable, modular, and maintainable software architectures.
Lead the development of backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend applications.
Establish coding standards, development workflows, version control practices, and software testing procedures.
Oversee system integration, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
Ensure software security, data protection, system reliability, and application scalability.
Lead and coordinate software development projects from requirements gathering through deployment.
Translate business objectives and product requirements into technical specifications and development plans.
Review code, conduct technical assessments, and ensure software quality standards are met.
Mentor developers and provide technical guidance to the development team.
Monitor project progress, resolve technical challenges, and ensure timely delivery of software projects.
Develop and optimise AI workflows using LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agent frameworks where appropriate.
Implement integrations with third-party platforms, business applications, and external data sources.
Evaluate AI output quality, latency, reliability, and operating costs.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through AI-driven automation.
Conduct technical research, prototyping, and proof-of-concept development for new AI products.
Maintain and enhance existing software products and AI applications.
Diagnose and resolve software defects, integration issues, and production incidents.
Implement automated testing, logging, monitoring, and deployment processes.
Prepare technical documentation, system architecture documents, and user or developer guides.
Provide technical support and continuous improvement for deployed client solutions.
3. Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in software development, with demonstrated experience in technical leadership or leading software projects.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or other relevant programming languages.
Experience developing web applications, backend services, REST APIs, databases, and cloud-based software systems.
Practical experience integrating LLM APIs and developing AI-enabled applications.
Familiarity with modern software development frameworks, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
Knowledge of database design, application security, authentication, and data protection.
Ability to lead technical projects, troubleshoot complex issues, and communicate effectively with business stakeholders.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and project management skills.
4. Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing AI agents, multi-step AI workflows, chatbots, or AI automation platforms.
Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, tool calling, and agent orchestration frameworks.
Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Experience with Docker, containerisation, and production deployment.
Experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms and subscription-based software products.
Experience integrating third-party APIs, CRM systems, e-commerce platforms, or marketing technology tools.
