General Description:

The US Medical Affairs Fellowship at BeOne Medicines is a 12-month postdoctoral training program designed to cultivate future leaders in the biopharmaceutical industry.

Reporting directly to the Executive Director, Disease Area Head of Solid Tumors in US Medical Affairs, the Medical Affairs Fellow is a key contributor within the US Medical Affairs organization, supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives across solid tumor programs. In this role, the Fellow exercises independent judgment and discretion in analyzing scientific and clinical information, identifying data gaps, and developing solutions that inform medical strategy and stakeholder engagement.

Working in a matrixed environment, the Fellow collaborates with cross-functional teams to advance medical plans, support evidence generation initiatives, and deliver high-quality scientific communications. The Fellow is accountable for defined projects and deliverables that directly impact medical strategy, field engagement, and external scientific exchange.

This position is designed for doctoral-level scientists or clinicians seeking to apply their expertise in a dynamic, global oncology environment while contributing to the advancement of innovative therapies.

Essential Functions of the Job:

The Fellow will perform various tasks critical to Medical Affairs and BeOne business, which may include, but not limited to:

Medical Strategy & Planning:

  • Lead defined components of US Medical Plans, including situation analysis, identification of strategic priorities, and development of tactical recommendations aligned with disease area objectives.
  • Independently synthesize scientific, clinical, and competitive intelligence to inform medical strategy and lifecycle planning.
  • Develop and maintain strategic metrics dashboards to evaluate execution effectiveness and identify areas for optimization.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders based on data interpretation and insights.

Evidence Generation:

  • Assess clinical and real-world evidence gaps and propose evidence generation initiatives to address unmet needs.
  • Conduct scientific and feasibility reviews of Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT) proposals, including evaluation of scientific merit, strategic alignment, and operational considerations.
  • Analyze clinical and epidemiologic data to support publication planning and medical strategy decisions.

Scientific Communications & Publications:

  • Develop high-impact scientific content, including advisory board materials, educational slide decks, and medical education resources.
  • Translate complex clinical data into clear, scientifically accurate communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead components of publication planning, including literature gap analyses, publication concepts, and abstract development.
  • Serve as a scientific resource in the planning and execution of medical congress activities.

External Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Plan and execute stakeholder engagement activities, including advisory boards and scientific meetings, ensuring alignment with medical strategy.
  • Collaborate with Field Medical Directors to identify insights and translate field intelligence into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Develop engagement strategies for KOLs, investigators, and patient advocacy organizations to support medical objectives.

Medical Information & Reviews:

  • Author scientific response documents (e.g., SRLs) using independent evaluation of literature and clinical data.
  • Serve as a scientific reviewer in Medical and Promotional Review Committees (MRC/PRC), providing expert input to ensure accuracy, compliance, and scientific rigor.
  • Evaluate medical information inquiries and determine appropriate scientific responses.

Leadership, Teaching, & Special Project:

  • Provide mentorship and project oversight to US Medical Affairs Summer Interns, including project planning, feedback, and evaluation.
  • Lead journal clubs, training sessions, or educational initiatives for internal teams.
  • Independently design and execute a strategic capstone project that addresses a key business or medical need, presenting outcomes to senior leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience with scientific literature databases (e.g., PubMed, Embase)
  • Ability to use digital tools for data analysis and project tracking

Required Qualifications:

  • PharmD from an accredited institution
  • Licensed pharmacist or recent pharmacy graduate with a clear intent to obtain licensure immediately post-graduation
  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodology and demonstrated ability to independently analyze scientific data
  • Self-motivated, ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrixed environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills

  • Eligible to work in the USA

Preferred:

  • Experience in hematology/oncology research or clinical practice
  • Prior experience in medical affairs, clinical research, or regulatory environments
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience

Travel:

  • Optional (to gain field medical experience)
  • Attend select meetings and/or congress(es)

Pay Rate: 75k/Year

Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
