BETA Technologies builds electric aircraft and a nationwide charging network for them. Its ALIA aircraft comes in conventional takeoff and vertical takeoff versions. The company works with cargo carriers, medical logistics and the United States Air Force.

At BETA Technologies, we apply our intellectual curiosity, passion for aviation, and commitment to sustainability toward a shared mission of revolutionizing electric aviation. Regardless of the position one holds, each team member brings their talent and desire to positively impact the environment and lives of others in a refreshing, vibrant, and inclusive culture.

The GSE Manufacturing Technician is responsible for building, testing, and preparing ground support equipment that enables electric aircraft operations. As a Manufacturing Technician at BETA Technologies, you will work in a small team environment to take designs from process development through repeatable production. You will perform daily hands-on assembly, inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks while working closely with engineering, quality, and operations to incorporate design and process improvements into existing builds.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

  • Perform hands-on assembly of ground support equipment, including charge systems, thermal management systems, mini cubes, power-distribution assemblies, and related mechanical and electrical subassemblies.
  • Operate production equipment and use hand and power tools to build, maintain, test, and prepare GSE assemblies for shipment or deployment.
  • Follow technical data packages, work instructions, drawings, bills of material, and wiring diagrams to meet product specifications and tolerance requirements.
  • Install, route, terminate, and verify electrical harnesses, connectors, panels, and hardware in accordance with approved build documentation.
  • Perform functional checks, in-process quality inspections, and basic troubleshooting; identify and escalate process deviations, nonconformances, and safety concerns.
  • Use measuring, diagnostic, and test equipment to evaluate assemblies and support root-cause investigation and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate, clear manufacturing records, including assembly documentation, inspection results, torque values, electrical checks, and test data.
  • Support process development, continuous-improvement activities, and incorporation of engineering changes into production builds.
  • Use required personal protective equipment and comply with company and government safety requirements, including electrical and high-voltage safety practices.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned to meet company goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing, assembly, automotive, industrial-equipment, or related technical setting; or a two-year degree or certificate from an accredited technical school, college, or university.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical and mechanical assembly practices.
  • Ability to assist with problem analysis and make sound, independent decisions within established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain complete, accurate production documentation.
  • Good team communication skills and a commitment to safe, high-quality work.

Above and Beyond Qualifications:

  • Experience manufacturing, testing, or servicing electric-vehicle charging equipment, industrial power systems, battery systems, or aerospace ground support equipment.
  • Experience with high-voltage DC systems, electrical troubleshooting, crimping and harness assembly, or production test equipment.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement methods.
