To further expand and strengthen our team in Airport Automation we are seeking an experienced Senior Automation Engineer to join our team. You will become part of the Project Engineering team, consisting of 12 highly skilled colleagues. The team is dedicated to working with our CrisBag system for some of the world's largest airports, which also means that if in your interest, traveling will be possible. Our systems operate around the clock and handle millions of bags annually, placing high demands in reliability, scalability and maintainability. Together with the team, you’ll bring tomorrow’s automation solutions to life with immediate access to our in-house test centre for prototyping, simulation, and validation.

Play a crucial part in developing cutting-edge technology for project delivery

As Senior Automation Engineer, we expect you to act as a technical authority, identifying opportunities for enhancement in existing systems and processes. You will work across the full automation stack including PLC, safety systems, network infrastructure, high-level system integration, commissioning and cross-disciplinary technical coordination. As an essential part of the role you will contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, development tools, simulation and emulation environments, testing methodologies, and software quality practices. You will participate in project definition and review meetings. Your tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Developing PLC code for projects specific elements and solutions in our baggage handling system
  • Defining the best solutions for specific projects
  • Commissioning your PLC code in projects worldwide as well as testing your solutions virtually or at our test centre
  • Reviewing layouts and solutions early in the process to secure the long-term success of our projects
  • Mentor team members in code development, promoting best practices and knowledge-sharing
  • Participating in the documentation of our solutions

Skilled Automation Engineer

  • Advanced proficiency in Siemens TIA and SCL (Structured Control Language)
  • Solid experience with modular software development, component-based architectures and structured PLC programming
  • Speak and write English fluently

Furthermore, we expect that you possess strong coordination skills, in providing inputs for planning and resources. You thrive in a dynamic environment, and hold a proactive, detail-oriented mindset, enabling you to effectively manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
