Your mission

Being part of our Design & Engineering function, you will take responsibility for the technical planning, design, and documentation of video systems across Event Production projects. You will collaborate closely with project teams and other technical disciplines to develop video solutions that meet creative, operational, and project-specific requirements.

You will create and maintain detailed technical drawings and plans using Vectorworks, ensuring all video elements are accurately documented, technically coordinated, and prepared for efficient installation and delivery onsite.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Plan and design video systems for Event Production projects, supporting projects from concept and tender development through detailed design, installation, and delivery.
  • Convert creative concepts, project briefs, and operational requirements into practical and technically achievable video solutions.
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D Vectorworks drawings covering LED screens, projection systems, displays, equipment positioning, cable routes, and technical infrastructure.
  • Prepare video system designs, signal flows, equipment specifications, schematics, patching information, and related technical documentation.
  • Determine suitable equipment, screen and projection requirements, signal distribution, connectivity, infrastructure, and system integration through detailed technical planning.
  • Coordinate video designs with audio, lighting and rigging disciplines.
  • Review venue, architectural, production, and project drawings to establish technical requirements and identify potential constraints and risks.
  • Prepare and support equipment lists, technical aspects, scope of work, and supplier/subcontractor requirements.
  • Ensure proposed video solutions remain aligned with project scope, programme, budget, and operational requirements.
  • Provide technical input during tendering and pre-production, including concepts, drawings, specifications, and equipment requirements.
  • Liaise with internal teams, external suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to clarify technical requirements and resolve design or coordination matters.
  • Identify and resolve technical clashes, risks, infrastructure constraints, and installation challenges during the planning and design stages.
  • Maintain accurate and current technical drawings and documentation throughout project development and delivery.
  • Support installation, configuration, commissioning, rehearsals, and onsite delivery as required.
  • Contribute to the development of technical standards, Vectorworks templates, workflows, libraries, and best practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of video technologies, LED and projection systems, signal processing, networking, software, and industry developments.

Your profile

  • Proven experience in technical planning, video system design, video engineering, or a similar technical role within live events, entertainment, experiential, broadcast, theatre, or a related industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of professional video systems, including LED displays, projection systems, media servers, video processing, switching, signal distribution, networking, and associated infrastructure.
  • Strong proficiency in Vectorworks and experience producing detailed technical drawings for live events or entertainment environments.
  • Solid understanding of video system design principles, signal flow, resolution and format requirements, equipment selection, connectivity, and system integration.
  • Experience coordinating video requirements with other production disciplines such as audio, lighting, rigging, staging, power, and structures.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Comfortable working independently while being an active contributor within the wider Design & Engineering and Event Production teams.
  • Previous experience working on projects within the Middle East and/or international Event Production environment.
  • Degree, diploma, or relevant technical qualification in Video Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Technical Production, Event Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
