Join CYTENA as Director of Marketing (m/w/d) and take a leading role in shaping and implementing the marketing strategy for our Business Unit Lab Instruments. Based in Freiburg, you will lead and develop the marketing team across CYTENA and DISPENDIX and work closely with Sales, Product Management, and central marketing functions.
This position combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement in campaigns, product launches, commercial planning, and sales enablement.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and further develop the Business Unit marketing team across CYTENA and DISPENDIX.
- Define and implement the marketing strategy, annual marketing plan, and budget in line with the Business Unit’s commercial priorities.
- Drive demand generation through integrated digital campaigns, industry events, scientific content, and customer references.
- Develop compelling product positioning, value propositions, messaging, and go-to-market plans in close collaboration with Product Management and Sales.
- Plan and support successful product launches across relevant markets and customer segments.
- Enable the Sales organization by providing relevant content, campaigns, tools, and coordinated lead follow-up activities.
- Monitor and evaluate campaign performance, qualified pipeline, conversion rates, and return on marketing spend.
- Use performance data and market insights to continuously improve marketing activities and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with central CRM, web, and graphic design teams to ensure the effective delivery of Business Unit priorities.
- Foster effective collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Product Management, and other internal stakeholder groups.
- Represent the Business Unit’s marketing interests in cross-functional and international initiatives.
Your Qualifications
- A degree in marketing, business administration, life sciences, communications, or a comparable field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience.
- Relevant professional experience in B2B marketing, ideally within life sciences, laboratory instruments, medical technology, biotechnology, or a related technology-driven environment.
- Experience in leading and developing marketing teams in an international setting.
- Demonstrated experience in demand generation, product marketing, go-to-market activities, and sales enablement.
- Experience in developing marketing strategies, annual plans, and budgets aligned with commercial objectives.
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, campaigns, events, content marketing, and customer-focused communication.
- Ability to translate complex technical or scientific product information into clear, relevant, and compelling customer messaging.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using performance indicators to evaluate and continuously improve marketing activities.
- A strategic and structured approach combined with the willingness to contribute directly to operational execution.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Professional fluency in English, both written and spoken. German language skills are an advantage.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required by the role.
