Our mission is to inform, connect and advance the commercial real estate community to do more business. From events and news to marketing services, talent solutions and now DaaS, BISNOW reaches millions of all-digital readers as well as thousands ...

BISNOW OVERVIEW

Bisnow is the commercial real estate industry's leading, vertically integrated B2B media platform, covering North America, Canada, the UK and Ireland. We serve the CRE industry through award-winning news and publications, renowned events, wide-ranging marketing services, specialized recruitment solutions, and intelligent sales enablement tools.

With 1.7M+ subscribers and 400+ events annually across 47 markets in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, we don't just cover the industry, we help move it forward.

We inform. We connect. We create opportunities that turn into deals. Global mindset. Hyper-local execution.

Bisnow is creating a new Chief of Staff seat, directly supporting and reporting into our CEO, as we scale a media, events, and data business across 47 markets and five countries. This is not a research-and-recommend seat. It's an execution seat. You'll turn our CEO’s priorities into decisions and action across sales, editorial, events, marketing, hiring and finance; run the operating rhythm that keeps a fast-moving, multi-market business pointed in the same direction. Personally, you’ll pick up the cross-functional work that doesn't have an obvious owner yet; from a new market launch to a product rollout to an org redesign. The right person has already proven they can walk into an organization with no built-in authority, earn the trust of people who don't report to them, and ship the hard thing rather than coordinate it. If you want a seat where the CEO's priorities become your problem to solve, this is it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the CEO's execution arm across the business. You assist the CEO & the leadership team in setting the direction and then help make it happen cross functionally across Bisnow - from a market sales floor, to an editorial newsroom, to a national event stage. You'll take his priorities into sales, content, events, marketing, finance, and more - securing buy-in, resolving tradeoffs, and driving the work to a finish. You should help turn vision into reality efficiently and effectively.

  • Operationalize how leadership runs the company. You'll help structure the annual, quarterly, and monthly rhythms with appropriate sequencing to drive actual outcomes - including how we plan and review performance across 47 markets and multiple revenue lines. You create agendas that help drive decisions, pre-work that enables effective meetings, and clarify next steps that actually move the needle across the business.

  • Lead cross-functional projects end to end. Future planning workstreams, new market and event launches, product rollouts (think BiscRed, AdBook, StudioB), org design assistance, integration of new hires. You help scope these, run the working sessions, and personally do the parts that don't have an obvious owner. This role does not hand off execution. If your instinct after the meeting is to write a summary and find someone else to go build the thing, this is the wrong seat.

  • Stand in for the CEO where it counts. The CEO can only be in one room at a time, and it is your job to keep the momentum going in their absence - whether that's a market sales meeting, an editorial planning session, or a conversation with an advertiser or partner. You'll take the meetings they can't, with the standing to move a decision forward rather than take notes and circle back. Come out with a point of view on what happened and what should happen next. This is not gatekeeping and it does not reduce anyone's access to them; it expands what the office of the CEO can cover in a week.

  • Turn strategy into operating systems. The plan is rarely the problem, but the actual mechanics of getting things done can be. You'll diagnose where the business is losing time - inefficient handoffs between editorial and events, manual work that could be automated, decisions that get made twice across markets - and build the process, cadence, or tooling that makes the fix permanent. The test of this work is that it keeps running after you move on to the next thing.

  • Handle confidential people, transition, and transaction work with total discretion. Friendly with the team while keeping confidential information confidential, in a business where news and gossip travel fast. You should be clear-eyed about when information is yours to share and when it isn't.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 3 - 6 years in a fast-moving operating role - chief of staff, corporate strategy, business operations, consulting, or founder-adjacent - with clear progression in scope and ownership. Direct experience working alongside executives is a strong signal; exposure to media, events, or a multi-revenue-line business is a plus, not a requirement.

  • Has built and shipped, not coordinated. You can point to work that would have died if you had stopped showing up - a launch, a market entry, a process - and describe what you personally produced rather than what the group delivered. We are not hiring someone to remind people about deadlines.

  • Has walked laterally into an organization that had no automatic reason to respect them and earned respect regardless. Bisnow is a performance culture - people here respect operators who can play, not managers who only coach. You'll spend your first weeks listening to every department, from sales to editorial to events, and understanding what each team is trying to accomplish, not arriving with ideas on day one. Candidates who have never faced that and won will find this the hardest part of the job.

  • Cross-functional fluency, with genuine curiosity about sales, editorial, events, finance, and product in roughly equal measure. Expect to understand the economics of every Bisnow revenue line inside 60 days - what makes a summit sponsorship, a subscription, and an ad campaign each profitable - and to be as comfortable in a market sales meeting as in an editorial planning session.

  • Exceptional written communication: concise, structured, free of jargon, and built for a CEO, board, or external partner. You can take an hour of unstructured conversation and return a page that makes the decision obvious - the same bar we hold our own journalism to.

  • Financially literate without being the finance function. You can understand a P&L, pressure-test a model, and tell within minutes whether an assumption is doing too much work - and you know to pull in FP&A rather than build the projections yourself.

  • Innately curious about technology/AI. You love to experiment with the latest workplace technology, and develop clear views on when tooling creates leverage and when it's a distraction - this is a business actively building AI into how it works.

  • Based in New York and in the office alongside the CEO. This role is built on proximity w/ the CEO in NYC; informal convos, hallway context, and the ability to step into a room on short notice. You'll be a partner that is co-located in NYC.

  • Forms a view and brings a recommendation rather than waiting to be assigned analysis. Comfortable being the person who says the plan doesn't work. High agency, low ego, and a steady hand looking to commit multiple years to Bisnow specifically.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive compensation structure!

  • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance

  • Short and Long Term Disability Insurance - this includes maternity and paternity leaves as well.

  • 401K

  • Flexible Spending Account

  • Dependent Care Account

  • Health Savings Account

  • Unlimited Vacation Days

  • 7 days paid sick leave

  • 9 paid Holidays

  • Referral Bonus Program

  • You’ll get to work with incredibly smart, passionate, driven, ambitious, kind, caring and mindful people and will rarely experience an overload of policies, bureaucracy or toxicity (the latter, we do not tolerate).
