About the role

Responsible for managing and executing inbound and outbound delivery activities, with a strong focus on GPU and other critical semiconductor/electronic component imports into Malaysia. The role will coordinate closely with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, internal teams, and relevant government agencies to ensure shipments are cleared and delivered on time, compliantly, and with minimum disruption to operation. The position will also be responsible for resolving import-related issues, improving forwarders & logistics processes, and establishing a reliable import/export operation to support Malaysia supply chain and data centre activities

What you will be responsible for:

• Import & Customs Management
  • Manage end-to-end import/export processes for GPUs, ICs, electronic components, equipment and other critical materials into Malaysia and probably other countries.
  • Coordinate import documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, AWB/BL, COO/Form E, HS code, permits and other supporting documents.
  • Work closely with customs brokers and freight forwarders to ensure timely customs declaration and clearance.
  • Investigate and resolve customs clearance issues, including HS classification, valuation, COO, import permits, customs queries and document discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with relevant Malaysian authorities and agencies when required for import clearance and regulatory matters.
  • Maintain proper records of import documentation and customs transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
• Delivery & Logistics Execution
  • Monitor shipments from supplier pickup through Malaysia customs clearance and final delivery.
  • Follow up with forwarders for vessel/flight schedules, ETA, customs clearance status and delivery commitments.Coordinate with Planning/PMC, Procurement, Warehouse, Manufacturing and suppliers to prioritize urgent deliveries.
  • Proactively identify shipment delays and implement recovery actions.
• Freight Forwarder & Customs Broker Management
  • Manage day-to-day activities with freight forwarders, courier companies and customs brokers.
  • Monitor forwarder performance, including clearance lead time, delivery performance and issue resolution.
    • Check and validate the payment request from the forwarders, execute the payment via system.
• Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure import/export activities comply with Malaysian customs and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and improve import/export SOPs, checklists and documentation requirements.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for customs and delivery problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce customs clearance and overall delivery lead time.
  • Cross-functional Support
    • Work closely with internal Procurement, PMC, Finance, Quality, Engineering and after sales team.
    • Support NPI and new material introduction from an import/export perspective.
    • Provide logistics and customs input during new supplier and new product setup.
    • Support urgent shipment recovery and production shortage situations.

How you will stand out:

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, International Trade, Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in logistics, import/export, customs clearance, freight forwarding or supply chain.
  • Hands-on experience with Malaysia import/export processes and customs clearance.
  • Experience handling electronics, semiconductor, IT hardware or high-value equipment is preferred.
  • Experience dealing with customs brokers and international freight forwarders is highly preferred.
• Technical / Knowledge
  • Good understanding of Malaysian customs import/export procedures.
  • Knowledge of HS code classification, import permits, COO/Form E, customs declarations and customs valuation.
  • Familiarity with air freight and sea freight processes.
  • Good understanding of Incoterms.
  • ERP experience such as Oracle/SAP is an advantage.
  • Strong Excel/data analysis skills.
