Hardware Engineer

Primarily Roles & Responsibilities

• Must be from Product Design Background and should have led at least one complete Product

• Hardware development from concept to Manufacturing

• Electrical design of the module from requirement specifications. • Estimate system power budget, Design of voltage regulators. • Prepare detailed design document • Schematic entry in Concept HDL • Define board layout constraints, routing guidelines • Define board stack up, impedance rules. • Perform Signal integrity analysis • Design the PCB layout. • Prepare engineering BOM • Review the design for DFM/DFT • Prepare detailed board bring up and validation plan.
• Perform board bring up and validation.
• Creating specifications and defining test cases
• Assist in performing system level compliance tests and safety tests. • Define test functions for manufacturing testing.
• Responsible for Effort Estimation and Task planning and Tracking for the team
• Performing competitive analyses and teardowns
• Will need to lead prototype design, get the final product design done and get it assembled with Design for Manufacturability, Design for Reliability. • Needs to work with the PCB assembly, Mechanical Enclosure Design team, Reliability and Quality Assurance teams for final product realization • Develops and maintains engineering documents to meet Quality System requirements.
• Job involves analyzing requirements, developing detailed hardware specifications, circuit design, analyze worst case conditions, circuit simulation, hardware realization, review of PCB, prototyping coordination, testing of boards, and design validation.

Desired experience: -

• Strong knowledge on the various processors and controllers.
• Strong knowledge on the Analog, digital, Power and RF designs.
• Strong knowledge on the communications like I2C, SPI, UART, RS232 and RS485.
• Good knowledge on the High speed signals Routing and the Power Routing techniques.
• Hands on experience in using the Circuit design tools - ORCAD/Altium/Mentor Graphics.
• Experience in system level design, development and validation.
• Excellent problem solving ability with experience in debugging, diagnosing complex circuits issues which involves both hardware and software.
• Experience in board bring up and testing.
• Knowledge in reliability analysis.
• Good knowledge of EMI, EMC and ESD Validation, Electrical Validation, environmental validation.
• Hands on Experience in using laboratory equipment such as high speed digital oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, logic-analyzers etc.
• Knowledge on the Certifications of the product.
• Knowledge of RoHS/WEEE/REACH compliance
• Understand IP 67 systems, NEMA compliant systems.MIL grade systems
• Environmental testing as per International standards for Dry Heat, Humidity, Vibration, Impact etc.
• Work closely with test labs for agency certifications like FCC/CE/UL, etc.
• Must possess ability to think out of the box & propose creative solutions

Additional Skills: Having following would be added advantage

• Embedded Programming.
• CMMI Documentation
• Knowledge on CAN Bus is extra advantage.
