Blue Origin is an American aerospace company founded quietly by Jeff Bezos in 2000, and funded for two decades largely out of his own fortune rather than external investment. It flies the suborbital New Shepard vehicle for space tourism and research payloads, and developed the heavy-lift New Glenn rocket alongside the BE-4 engine, which also powers United Launch Alliance's Vulcan. Headquartered in Kent, Washington, the company is building the Blue Moon lunar lander under a NASA Artemis contract and has moved from a deliberately slow development culture toward far more aggressive schedules under chief executive Dave Limp.

Application close date:

Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are a diverse team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to the pursuit of safe and repeatable spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, and program managers, you will support the development of our space vehicles and help enable Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

The New Glenn Finance team is a high-performance group, and we are looking for a Financial Analyst II with strong analytical depth to support planning, forecasting, and decision support. You will turn operational and financial data into clear insights, identify the drivers behind performance, and help leaders understand what is changing, why it matters, and what action to take.

You are a hands-on problem solver who is comfortable working from source data through the final leadership narrative. You build transparent models, reconcile discrepancies, test assumptions, and create repeatable analyses rather than one-time answers. You use Excel, SQL, BI tools, and controlled AI workflows to extend your reach while maintaining the accuracy expected in a financial environment.

Passion for our mission and vision is required. Ability to work full-time on-site is required, and relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities:

  • Support recurring FP&A cycles, including monthly forecasts, quarterly reforecasts, and the annual operating plan, for an assigned New Glenn business area.
  • Perform detailed variance and trend analysis across actuals, forecast, and plan; trace results to operational and transaction-level drivers and clearly identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
  • Build and maintain driver-based financial models that translate operational inputs into P&L, headcount, cash, and capital impacts; document assumptions and pressure-test outputs.
  • Query, reconcile, and validate data from ERP, planning, and modern data platforms; resolve conflicting signals and maintain a clear analytical throughline from source data to the leadership conclusion.
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reporting that improve self-service, make key drivers visible, and reduce manual effort.
  • Deliver scenario, sensitivity, and ad-hoc analyses for resource decisions, cost actions, schedule changes, and other business questions.
  • Apply AI and workflow automation to recurring analysis with documented logic, source traceability, human review, and validation appropriate to a high-accuracy financial environment.
  • Partner with finance, accounting, operations, engineering, supply chain, and data teams to improve data quality, close process gaps at the source, and communicate findings to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, data analytics, or another highly analytical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, program finance, operations finance, or a closely related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated analytical depth: able to define an ambiguous question, structure the analysis, test assumptions, reconcile conflicting data, and deliver a credible answer.
  • Strong financial modeling fundamentals, including driver-based forecasting, scenario and sensitivity analysis, and clear linkage between assumptions and outputs.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and practical experience with at least one visualization or analytics platform such as Power BI, Tableau, or an equivalent tool.
  • Working SQL proficiency sufficient to perform routine data pulls, joins, aggregations, and validation against a modern data platform.
  • Working GAAP foundation sufficient to connect forecast to actuals and partner effectively with accounting on close, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders and distinguish facts, assumptions, judgment, and uncertainty.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise planning tools such as OneStream, Anaplan, Oracle EPM, or an equivalent platform.
  • Experience with D365 Finance or another major ERP in an FP&A, program finance, or operations finance context.
  • Experience in a capital-intensive, manufacturing, aerospace, or launch-vehicle environment.
  • Experience extending analysis through scripting, workflow automation, or AI agents with appropriate controls.
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, advanced analytical degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
