To ensure you’re set up for success, you will bring the following skillset & experience:
- 6+ years of experience designing, testing, and implementing mainframe OEM vendor products and system exits in an IBM z/OS environment.
- Extensive experience coding MVS Assembler using MVS supervisor services, cross memory services and data management facilities.
- Extensive experience in a combination of the following - JCL, VSAM, JES2/3, SDSF, ISPF, REXX, and/or C programming.
- Diagnostics, Debugging and Troubleshooting skills using IPCS, GTF, and XDC.
- Experience in QA principles, including test planning, test cases creation, execution, test results documentation & defect reporting.
- Knowledge of storage management/administration (DFSMS, DFSMS/HSM, virtual tape systems, DASD).
- The ability to work independently, solve complex problems and effectively reassess work priorities.
- Knowledge of z/OS Internals, Channel program, I/O and Control blocks.
- Experience supporting and developing MVS systems software.
- Hands on experience working on DB2
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of trimodal instructions, access register mode, SRB and zIIP processing.
- Experience using IBM utilities (IEBCOPY, IEBGENER, SORT, IEHLIST, AMBLIST, etc.).
- Experience with working on BMC AMI FDR products.
