The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is looking for a Senior Bombers Manager to lead our team at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.
This role will oversee a multi-functional team of technicians, engineers, and managers supporting the Bombers Program.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and quality-focused, adaptable and solution-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement. They will work effectively within team environments, manage priorities to meet schedule commitments, and confidently engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive results.
Travel: 10% travel maybe required
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages employees and first-level managers performing business management activities in the area of Program Management
- Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
- Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
- Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
- Establishes Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) program goals and establishes a PMBP improvement plan
- Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship
- 5+ years of experience in test and/or engineering leadership (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience)
- 5+ years of experience managing and/or leading a team either formally or informally, with the ability to provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members
- Experience with program management, project management and/or business operations
- Experience building strong business partner relationships
- Willing and able to travel 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- An active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experiences
- Experience adapting to changes in schedules and priorities, solving problems, and generating alternative solutions
- Experience with aerospace industry engineering processes and procedures at Edwards Air Force Base
- Experience developing and delivering presentations to senior leaders
- Experience using Program Management Best Practices
- Strong communication skills with a positive, proactive, and collaborative approach
- Demonstrated ability to drive and sustain First Time Quality
- Experience applying risk and reliability management systems and techniques
- Experience in managing development programs from requirements definition through design, qualification, fielding and support
- Engineering degree or experience in support engineering principles
