Join Booking.com as a Data Engineer II in Central Tech, where you'll play a key role in building and evolving the next-generation BI and AI Analytics Platform. You'll work at the intersection of data platform engineering, semantic modeling, and AI-powered analytics, contributing to the design and implementation of the Semantic Layer foundation and the development of AI-powered analytics capabilities. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and continuously improve platform capabilities.
Missions
- Contribuer à la conception et à la mise en œuvre de la fondation de la couche sémantique, en tirant parti de technologies telles que Snowflake Semantic Views et dbt.
- Participer au développement et à l'exploitation des capacités d'analyse alimentées par l'IA, y compris Snowflake Intelligence, Cortex/Insight Agents, Cortex Search et ThoughtSpot.
- Construire et maintenir des modèles de données évolutifs, réutilisables et gouvernés qui servent de source unique de vérité pour les analyses et les cas d'utilisation BI.
Profil recherché
- Hands-on experience with modern data technologies such as Snowflake, dbt, and semantic layer technologies (e.g., Cube or similar)- Experience with BI and analytics platforms such as ThoughtSpot, Tableau, or similar
- Strong understanding of semantic modeling, metric layers, data governance, and BI consumption patterns
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming/scripting language (Python preferred)
- 4-6+ years of experience in data platform engineering, analytics engineering, or BI platform roles
- Experience working with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and modern data infrastructure
- Ability to work cross-functionally, communicate effectively, and navigate ambiguity with a strong sense of ownership
- Experience with AI-powered or conversational analytics, LLM/agent concepts, or agentic systems is a strong plus
- Familiarity with platform integrations through APIs or standards such as MCP is a plus
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design reliable, scalable, and production-ready platform solutions
