Technical Controller

Join Booking.com as a Technical Controller in Amsterdam. This role focuses on US GAAP and SEC technical accounting topics, providing guidance to finance teams, overseeing the accounting function, and driving continuous improvement. You will be part of a dynamic finance organization and report to the Head of Technical Accounting & Oversight. Missions

• Provide US GAAP accounting guidance to other finance teams regarding new initiatives, products, and non-recurring transactions.
• Document and review technical accounting assessments in line with US GAAP, and oversee the accounting function to ensure accurate and proper accounting.
• Drive continuous improvement through standardization, process creation, automation, and task simplification.

Profil recherché

- Strong comprehension of other functional Finance areas such as Risk & Controls, SOX, Financial Systems, and Compliance

- Solid expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially in stakeholder management

- Ambitious, inquisitive, keen to develop, and ready to take on additional responsibilities

- Sound knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS experience is beneficial)

- Proven ability to work effectively in a team within an international, matrix organization

- Experience in a Big 4 Audit firm

- University degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics, and/or postgraduate education (e.g., RA/CPA/ACCA)

- Approximately 8-10 years of experience in finance and/or accounting

- Fluent in both spoken and written English

- Enthusiastic about innovation and process improvement
