Bosch is a German engineering and technology group founded in Stuttgart in 1886 by Robert Bosch as a workshop for precision mechanics and electrical engineering. It is the largest automotive supplier in the world, making braking, steering, powertrain, sensor and driver assistance systems for nearly every carmaker, and it also produces power tools, home appliances through BSH, industrial drives through Rexroth, and building security and heating systems. Around ninety per cent of the company is owned by a charitable foundation, an ownership structure that gives it unusual freedom to invest across long research cycles including semiconductors and hydrogen.
Do you want beneficial technologies being shaped by your ideas? Whether in the areas of mobility solutions, consumer goods, industrial technology or energy and building technology - with us, you will have the chance to improve quality of life all across the globe. Welcome to Bosch.
- Responsible for thermal and fluid simulation development of 3-in-1 / multi-in-one electric drive systems (motor, inverter, reducer) for new energy vehicles, including steady-state and transient heat transfer, fluid flow, heat dissipation and lubrication analysis at both system and component levels.
- Carry out motor thermal simulation for water cooling, oil cooling, end spray cooling and hollow shaft cooling solutions. Verify winding and magnet temperature, evaluate permanent magnet demagnetization risk, and complete electromagnetic-thermal coupling simulation.
- Conduct thermal simulation for electric control power devices (IGBT/SiC), PCB and capacitors. Calculate junction temperature and thermal resistance, verify heat dissipation reliability under high-temperature and peak-load conditions, and support thermal design development of 800V high-voltage platforms.
- Perform lubrication and cooling simulation for reducers, analyze gear churning, bearing oil supply, two-phase flow splashing, pressure drop and flow distribution. Optimize lubrication and cooling structures to solve overheating and insufficient lubrication problems.
- Build 1D/3D thermal simulation models for electric drive systems, conduct 1D-3D co-simulation, match vehicle cooling loops, and complete thermal balance verification under CLTC, WLTC, continuous climbing and peak overload conditions.
- Participate in bench temperature rise tests, vehicle thermal balance tests and thermal shock tests. Calibrate simulation boundary conditions and model parameters based on test data to continuously improve simulation accuracy.
- Propose optimization solutions for structure, flow channel, oil and water circuit layout based on simulation results. Cooperate with structural, electromagnetic, electronic control and test teams to complete scheme review and implementation, and solve thermal management problems in R&D and mass production stages.
- Establish and improve the simulation system, formulate thermal simulation modeling specifications, boundary condition standards and evaluation criteria. Improve development efficiency through DOE multi-objective optimization and simulation automation, and deliver complete simulation reports.
- Track advanced thermal management technologies in the industry, and conduct simulation pre-research and scheme verification for innovative technologies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or above, master’s degree preferred, major in Engineering Thermophysics, Energy and Power Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics or related fields.
- Fluent in English speaking reading and writing, capable of understanding English technical documents and delivering English simulation reports (mandatory for foreign-funded enterprises).
- Experience: At least 8 years of mass production R&D experience in thermal simulation of new energy vehicle electric drive systems, familiar with 3-in-1 / multi-in-one electric drive development process. Experience in 800V high-voltage platform, oil-cooled motor and SiC inverter simulation is preferred.
- Professional Knowledge: Solid theoretical foundation in heat transfer, fluid mechanics, conjugate heat transfer, two-phase flow and thermal resistance network; familiar with motor loss mechanism, power device thermal characteristics and reducer lubrication & cooling principles.
- Software Skills: Proficient in 3D CFD simulation software (STAR-CCM+ / ANSYS Fluent); skilled in MotorCAD for motor thermal simulation; experience with Amesim / GT-Suite 1D thermal system simulation is preferred.
- Practical Capability: Able to independently complete electric drive system modeling, meshing, boundary condition setting, simulation calculation, result analysis and report delivery; capable of simulation-test correlation and model iterative optimization.
- Advanced Skills: Familiar with Python / MATLAB for simulation data post-processing and automation script development; experience with DOE multi-objective optimization is a plus.
- Comprehensive Quality: Familiar with automotive APQP development process, with excellent problem-solving ability and cross-departmental communication skills. Rigorous working attitude with practical mass production project experience.
