Job Description:

The Credit Data & Analytics Lead supports bp’s Trading & Shipping business by using data, analytics, and technology to strengthen credit risk management and business decision-making. This role partners with global teams to develop analytical solutions, enhance reporting capabilities, and deliver insights that support risk awareness, operational efficiency, and central initiatives.

Job Summary

Credit Analytics & Risk Insights

  • Support the development and enhancement of credit risk models, analytics, and reporting solutions.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, concentrations, and portfolio insights.
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and decision-support tools that improve visibility of credit risk drivers.
  • Translate data and analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations.

Data Management & Technology

  • Manage and improve core credit data, reporting processes, and data quality initiatives.
  • Build and enhance automated solutions, algorithms, and reporting tools to support business needs.
  • Contribute to technology initiatives focused on automation, system enhancements, data integration, and process improvement.
  • Use analytical and visualization tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL, or similar technologies.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with team members to understand data requirements and deliver effective analytical solutions.
  • Promote data-driven decision-making through clear communication and engagement across teams.
  • Support innovation by exploring new technologies, methodologies, and analytical approaches.
  • Develop knowledge of credit risk frameworks, commercial drivers, and industry standard processes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, professional experience, and transferable skills will also be considered.

Professional Background

  • Relevant experience in analytics, risk management, quantitative analysis, finance, data science, business intelligence, or related fields.
  • Experience working with data visualization, reporting, and analytical tools.
  • Familiarity with credit risk concepts, financial models, or risk management frameworks is beneficial.
  • Experience with tools such as Power BI, Python, SQL, VBA, Dataiku, Databricks, or similar platforms is advantageous.

  • Ability to work with large datasets and communicate insights effectively.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
