Leading international law firm - Senior Tax Associate (7 PQE)

London (hybrid)

A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced tax lawyer to join its established London tax practice at Senior Associate level.

The team advises a broad range of multinational businesses, financial institutions, investment managers, funds, real estate investors and private capital clients on complex UK and cross-border tax matters. Working closely with colleagues across corporate, finance, real estate and private capital teams, the practice is involved in many of the market’s most significant transactions and advisory mandates.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious lawyer seeking a broad mix of transactional and advisory work within a collaborative, high-performing environment.

The Role

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in delivering strategic tax advice across a diverse range of matters, including:

  • Mergers, acquisitions and disposals
  • Corporate reorganisations and business restructurings
  • Financing and capital markets transactions
  • Real estate and private capital investments
  • Investment fund structures and related tax issues
  • Employee incentive arrangements
  • Cross-border tax planning and implementation
  • Tax risk management and contentious tax matters

The role offers substantial client contact and responsibility, including leading significant workstreams, supervising junior lawyers and working closely with partners on complex domestic and international matters.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a solicitor in England & Wales
  • Approximately 7 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate and transactional tax
  • Experience gained in a highly regarded law firm environment
  • Excellent technical tax knowledge and strong commercial awareness
  • Strong drafting, negotiation and project management skills
  • Experience running transactions and managing client relationships
  • The ability to supervise and mentor more junior team members
  • A collaborative, proactive and client-focused approach

Experience advising on private capital, real estate, financing transactions or employee incentives would be advantageous.
