Position Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to accelerate our healthcare client's Business Data Architecture modernization. This role is hands-on and delivery-focused: you will design and build scalable ingestion and transformation pipelines across a centralized Medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) using BigQuery, dbt, and Fivetran, along with custom API-based connectors where needed.

You will work closely with internal platform leadership and domain stakeholders to create a governed “data factory” that reduces metric drift, improves auditability, and accelerates time-to-insight through reliable, monitored pipelines and code-based metric definitions.

Workplace: This is a remote role open to candidates based in Argentina only

What You’ll Do:

• Pipeline Engineering & Delivery
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust ELT pipelines into BigQuery using Fivetran and custom API-based connectors
  • Build and operationalize bronze, silver, and gold data layers supporting enterprise analytics
  • Develop and manage dbt models, transformations, and orchestration workflows
  • Implement orchestration using Cloud Composer (Managed Airflow) for scheduling, dependency management, and pipeline coordination
• Data Quality, Validation, and Observability
  • Implement automated data validation, reconciliation, and testing frameworks
  • Build logging, monitoring, error handling, and alerting frameworks for data pipelines
  • Optimize BigQuery performance using partitioning, clustering, and cost tuning
• Security, Governance, and Access Controls
  • Define and implement IAM roles, data access policies, and AD group structures
  • Apply data classification, governance, and lineage standards
  • Ensure traceability and auditability through version control and structured deployment practices
• Platform Engineering & Delivery Enablement
  • Contribute to CI/CD workflows using GitHub and modern deployment practices
  • Support Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform) patterns including environment set up and lifecycle management
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, lineage, and pipeline designs

Must Have Skills:

• 5+ years of data engineering experience with enterprise-scale pipeline delivery
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP and BigQuery
• Proven expertise with dbt (required)
• Experience with Fivetran and API-based ingestion frameworks
• Strong Python skills including API integrations
• Experience with data quality rules, validation frameworks, and testing
• Proficiency with GitHub and CI/CD workflows
• Strong data modeling and ELT design experience
• Experience with data lineage, governance, and metadata
• Familiarity with healthcare data and compliance environments

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Terraform (IaC)
• Familiarity with Harness CI/CD and GitHub Actions
• Experience with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Knowledge of data mesh and domain-based data stewardship
• Experience with data classification and access governance frameworks
