Senior Software Engineer – Oracle Developer

Develop, support, and monitor Oracle-based applications that process business transactions and support critical operational workflows. Design, code, test, troubleshoot, and maintain database solutions using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including queries, stored procedures, packages, functions, and data-processing routines. Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and resolve production issues. Monitor application and database performance, investigate alerts and failures, support incident resolution, and help maintain system reliability. Contribute to application testing, performance tuning, and code quality. Exposure to Java-based applications or integrations is preferred.

Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, analyze existing processes, and translate needs into practical technical solutions. Develop new functionality and modify existing application and database logic; code, test, debug, document, and implement changes in an Agile delivery environment.

Monitor application and database performance, investigate alerts, failures, and production issues, and support incident resolution. Identify opportunities for system improvement, perform performance tuning, and help ensure changes are implemented reliably and with appropriate testing.

Work independently on moderately complex assignments with minimal guidance. Use sound technical judgment to solve problems, apply development best practices, and serve as a resource to less-experienced team members. May lead small projects or workstreams with manageable scope, risk, and resource needs.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience developing Oracle database applications using SQL and PL/SQL.
• Experience creating and maintaining stored procedures, packages, functions, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
• Experience troubleshooting application and database issues, including production support and incident resolution.
• Experience with application and database performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning.
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, debugging, documentation, deployment, and post-production support.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and existing application logic and develop effective technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and solve complex technical problems.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues clearly and collaborate with business and technology partners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Java-based applications, services, or integrations.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Experience leading small development projects or mentoring less-experienced developers.

Compensation

Salary Range: CAD $98,000 - $120,000. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location
