Overview
We’re looking for an entrepreneurial, results-driven retail leader and comfort enthusiast to lead our Philadelphia store. As the business owner of your location, you’ll be accountable for financial performance, day-to-day operations, and building a high-performing team and culture. This role reports to the East Region Area Manager and plays an important part in growing our retail presence.
Our stores operate with lean, agile teams of approximately 6-8 people, so this role requires a leader who can balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution on the selling floor. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy improving processes, maintaining high standards, and partnering closely with your Area Manager and Retail HQ to bring our brand to life.
What You’ll Do:
Total Business Oversight & Performance: Hold full accountability for store performance, analyzing key KPIs and retail metrics to drive financial targets and budget goals.
Strategic Leadership & Delegation: Oversee all daily operations, effectively delegating responsibilities to your Assistant Store Manager, Sales Leads, and Sales Associates while actively monitoring, coaching, and holding the team accountable to performance standards.
Elevated Selling & Service Model: Champion the execution of our premium selling and service model on the floor. Set the benchmark for exceptional service, driving your team to establish meaningful connections and deliver consistent, high-touch customer experiences.
Focal Clienteling Strategy: Own and drive the store's clienteling strategy by leveraging our dedicated digital platform. Empower and monitor your team to cultivate deep, long-term relationships, re-engage local customers, and maximize repeat business.
Local Trade & Event Activation: Strategically plan and execute in-store activations, localized events, and targeted outreach to actively grow our community footprint, acquire new clients, and drive trade business.
Full People Lifecycle Management: Own the full talent pipeline for your store. Independently manage recruiting, onboarding, and continuous training. Drive growth through future-facing feedback, annual performance reviews, and quarterly performance check-ins.
Operational Excellence & Inventory Accuracy: Oversee all store compliance and operational procedures. Establish rigorous standards for inventory accuracy, shrink control, and back-of-house organization, auditing performance to ensure stock flow supports sales trends.
Strategic Scheduling & Labor Management: Build and manage highly effective weekly schedules and payroll budgets. Align labor allocations with peak traffic, visual resets, and event-driven needs to optimize floor coverage and productivity.
Visual Directive Implementation: Oversee the flawless execution of visual merchandising directives provided by the HQ Visual team. Ensure the team adapts these guidelines to fit your unique floor plan, keeping the product styled in a beautiful, brand-aligned manner.
HQ Field Feedback Loop: Serve as the primary connector between your store, the Area Manager, and Retail HQ. Collaborate cross-functionally to share field insights, escalate customer feedback, and help refine evolving operational retail programs.
We're Looking For Someone With:
5+ years of retail management experience in a premium or specialized retail environment, with a strong background in leading, hiring, and developing talent.
Agility for a growth-stage environment: Experience working in an environment where you have successfully navigated scaling processes and helped optimize systems as a brand grows.
The ability to pivot from leader to doer: A floor leader who can step back to look at the big picture of store health, but who also loves being a hands-on executor who works side-by-side with a lean team to drive sales.
A passion for the "Soft Home" space: A genuine love for comfort, home styling, and product education, with the creative flair to help customers mix, match, and design their dream bed and bath setups.
A metrics-driven mindset with digital clienteling experience: Proven success managing complex operational goals, inventory pipelines, and utilizing digital clienteling platforms to drive sales.
Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills: Ability to build a culture of open communication and high trust within your team, while partnering effectively with corporate support teams.
Flexibility and adaptability to work a retail schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts based on the needs of the business.
Familiarity with select retail and workplace systems is a plus: Experience working within an Apple-based ecosystem (iPads/Macs) and utilizing platforms like Shopify POS, NetSuite, Slack, and Google Workspace to manage daily store operations, inventory tracking, and team communications.
