Brand Designer (Project-Based)

Role Summary

The Brand Designer is responsible for leading branding and rebranding projects from strategy through to final implementation. This role combines strategic thinking, creative direction, and strong design execution to create distinctive brand identities that are both visually compelling and commercially effective.

The ideal candidate understands that branding goes beyond designing a logo. They are able to develop the thinking behind a brand, translate strategy into visual systems, and deliver complete identity guidelines that ensure consistency across every touchpoint.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Discovery

• Participate in client discovery sessions and brand workshops.
• Contribute to brand positioning, personality, values, messaging, and creative direction.
• Translate research and strategy into clear creative concepts and visual directions.

Brand Identity Design

• Lead branding and rebranding projects from concept through to final delivery.
• Develop logo systems, typography, colour palettes, iconography, graphic elements, imagery direction, and supporting visual assets.
• Explore and present multiple creative directions with clear rationale.
• Ensure every identity is distinctive, scalable, and aligned with the brand strategy.

Brand Applications

• Design key brand touchpoints including stationery, packaging, signage, digital assets, merchandise, presentations, social media templates, and marketing collateral where required.
• Produce high-quality mockups that demonstrate how the identity comes to life across different applications.
• Maintain visual consistency across every brand touchpoint.

Brand Guidelines

• Develop comprehensive brand guidelines covering logo usage, typography, colour systems, imagery, layout principles, graphic devices, tone of visual communication, and application examples.
• Ensure all final assets are organised, editable, and ready for client handover.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong portfolio showcasing branding, logo design, and complete visual identity systems.
• Excellent understanding of branding principles, typography, colour theory, layout, and visual systems.
• Strong conceptual thinking with the ability to connect strategy to design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craft.
• Ability to manage multiple branding projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Agency experience is preferred.
• Experience with motion design, AI tools, or web design is an advantage.
