LOTO / PTW Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking an experiencedLOTO / PTW Coordinator to oversee Lockout/Tagout and energy isolation activities for a major industrial project in Qatar.

The role is responsible for ensuring thatelectrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other hazardous energy sources are safely isolated before work begins. You will coordinate closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Operations, HSE, Commissioning, and Permit-to-Work teams to ensure all isolation activities are properly planned, executed, verified, documented, and safely restored.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on knowledge ofLOTO, energy isolation, PTW systems, and industrial safety, with experience working on major industrial or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) activities at the project site.

• Ensure proper isolation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other hazardous energy sources.

• Review and implement approved LOTO procedures, isolation plans, and energy control requirements.

• Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Operations, HSE, and Commissioning teams.

• Verify that all isolation points are correctly identified, locked, tagged, and documented before work begins.

• Ensure compliance with project LOTO procedures, Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements, and applicable Qatar safety requirements.

• Conduct LOTO briefings and toolbox talks for personnel involved in isolation activities.

• Maintain accurateLOTO registers, isolation certificates, lock/tag records, and related documentation.

• Verify zero-energy conditions before authorizing work to commence.

• Ensure safe removal of locks and tags and proper restoration of equipment after work is completed.

• Coordinate LOTO activities duringtesting, pre-commissioning, commissioning, energization, and de-energization.

• Identify stored or residual energy hazards and ensure appropriate control measures are implemented.

• Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with approved LOTO procedures.

• Stop unsafe work and report LOTO or energy-isolation violations.

• Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and LOTO compliance reviews.

• Provide guidance and training to electricians, technicians, operators, and other personnel on LOTO requirements.

• Coordinate with the PTW team to ensure isolation requirements are properly reflected in permits.

• Ensure proper handover of LOTO activities between shifts and work teams.

• Support the HSE team in maintaining project safety standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (BE) in Electrical Engineering OR Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant LOTO / energy isolation experience.

• Strong knowledge ofLOTO procedures, electrical safety, hazardous energy control, and PTW systems.

• Experience working in industrial, infrastructure, oil & gas, power, water treatment, or desalination projects.

• Ability to read and understandelectrical drawings, single-line diagrams, isolation plans, and technical documentation.

• Strong understanding of safe isolation and zero-energy verification.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.

• Familiarity with Qatar HSE requirements and international electrical safety standards.

• PreviousQatarEnergy / QatarEnergy LNG project experience or approval.

• Experience with major industrial or EPC projects.

• Experience in commissioning, energization and de-energization activities.

• Experience with LOTO audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
