About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Printer & Copier Technician to join a leading South African technology partner. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality on-site hardware and software support, conducting routine preventative maintenance, and managing installations across a diverse client base. As a key representative of the technical operations team, you will ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime while consistently meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Perform root-cause troubleshooting and repairs on a variety of office automation devices, including multifunction copiers, printers, and print servers.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance to extend hardware lifecycles and minimize device failures.
• Execute mechanical and electrical repairs, including the replacement of fusers, rollers, image units, and transfer belts.
• Manage the delivery, assembly, and configuration of new hardware at client premises.
• Integrate devices into client local area networks (LANs) via static IP assignments, print server configurations, and workstation driver setups.
• Configure network scanning functionality, including Scan-to-Email (SMTP) and Scan-to-Folder (SMB/FTP).
• Perform routine firmware updates to ensure software stability and security.
• Manage field service inventory (boot stock) and perform monthly reconciliations.
• Log and update service tickets accurately using mobile field applications.
• Provide on-site training to clients regarding device operation and minor troubleshooting.

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience servicing office equipment (Printers/Copiers/Multifunction Devices).
• Valid South African Code 08 Driver’s License is essential.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking, subnets, and gateway configurations.
• Proficiency in using field service management mobile applications.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electronic failures.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
• Brand certifications (e.g., Canon, Ricoh, Konica Minolta, Kyocera, HP, or Xerox) would be highly advantageous.
