Summary

The Site Lead / Formal Training Unit (FTU) Manageris responsible foroverseeing all academic and simulator training activities at the assigned training site. This role provides leadership and direction for contract instructors, support personnel, and operations staff involved inmaintainingand operating Aircrew Training Devices (ATDs) and delivering aircrew instruction. The Site Lead serves as the principal liaison between CAE and the customer’s Program Office, ensuring contract compliance, operational effectiveness, training throughput, and a safe and secure working environment. The position also coordinates scheduling, manages quality assurance programs, supports configuration requirements, andrepresentsthe company in day-to-day base and community interactions.

  • Provide leadership and oversight forall on-siteacademic and simulator training operations.

  • Supervise and evaluate instructors and support personnel responsible formaintainingATDs and conducting aircrew training.

  • Act as the primary liaison between the government Program Office/Quality Assurance Representative (PO/QAR) and the CAE Program Manager.

  • Serve as the site-level contract representative and key point of contact for the USAF customer.

  • Ensure all site operationscomply withcontract requirements, policies, and standards.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers and supportstrong communicationchannels.

  • Ensuretimelysubmission of monthly deviceutilizationreports and other required reporting.

  • Establish and upholdappropriate safetyand security standards for all training and maintenance activities.

  • Participate in and plan conferences, meetings, and discussions with USAF customers.

  • Ensure training throughput aligns with fiscal year contractual requirements.

  • Manage yearly, monthly, and weekly training schedules for academic and simulator training.

  • Provide oversight for personnel training programs and ensure the availability of necessary resources.

  • Observe and evaluate instructor performance in both classroom and simulator environments.

  • Manage the site’s quality assurance program to ensure compliance with AS9100D standards.

  • Submit required data monthly to meet CDRL documentation requirements.

  • Attend scheduled weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings with CAE and customer stakeholders.

  • Represent CAE in local base communities through professional engagement, community activities, and coordination efforts.

  • Coordinate with the Training System Support Center (TSSC) Managerregardingfacilities and support requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of four years ofpreviousflight operations and/or flight training management experience.

  • Minimum of eight years total flying experience, including five years of military experience.

  • At least two years of flight instructor and training management experience.

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience managing training operations in a military or simulator-based environment.

  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams.

Security Responsibilities

Mustcomply withall company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

  • Domestic and international travel may berequired.

  • May require work in simulator environments involving exposure to hydraulics, electrical systems, extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noise, and mechanical components

Physical Demands

  • Ability to walk or climb stairs and ladders to access simulator or cockpit environments.

  • Ability tostoop, bend, and crawl on or under training devices whenrequired.

  • Ability to detect odors, noises, or other environmental indicators important to ATD function or surrounding conditions.

  • Ability to distinguish colorsrequiredfor operational safety or equipment inspection.

  • Ability to perform regular office tasks including prolonged periods of computer use.
