YOUR ROLE
In this role you will play a key role in ensuring the availability, performance, security and integrity of the database platforms that support critical services.
In this role you will play a key role in:
- Administering, maintaining and optimising database platforms in critical and high-availability environments, ensuring continuity of service at all times
- Proactively monitoring system performance using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana, identifying and resolving bottlenecks before they impact operations
- Managing backup strategies and data recovery processes, guaranteeing data integrity and business continuity
- Automating operational tasks through scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Collaborating closely with Development, Systems and Infrastructure teams to implement best practices in database operations and security
YOUR PROFILE
- At least 3 years of experience in database administration in critical environments, with solid hands-on knowledge of MySQL and Redis
- Proven experience working with containerised and orchestrated environments, particularly Kubernetes, and messaging systems such as RabbitMQ
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex incidents and deliver effective solutions under pressure
- Experience with cloud or containerised environments is a plus, as well as a proactive mindset, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks, with a strong sense of commitment, professionalism and attention to detail
