About the Job you are considering:
we are seeking an experienced Senior Automation QA Lead to drive the test automation strategy and implementation for a large-scale Contact Centre Migration programme. The role will be responsible for designing and building robust automation frameworks from scratch using Playwright, ensuring high-quality delivery across Web UI, API, and End-to-End customer journeys. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, architects, and product teams within an Agile delivery model to accelerate quality assurance through automation and CI/CD integration.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your Role:
Automation Strategy & Framework Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
- Establish automation best practices, coding standards, and reusable testing components.
- Build and maintain automation libraries, utilities, and reporting frameworks from scratch.
- Drive automation coverage across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Test Execution & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute automated test scripts covering Web UI, API, and business-critical workflows.
- Validate end-to-end customer journeys across contact centre platforms and integrated applications.
- Perform regression testing and ensure release readiness through continuous quality validation.
- Collaborate with development teams to identify, reproduce, and resolve defects efficiently.
CI/CD & DevOps Integration
- Integrate automation suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Enable automated execution, reporting, and quality gates within deployment workflows.
- Support continuous testing practices within DevOps ecosystems.
- Manage source code repositories using Git and version control best practices.
Your Skills:
Essential
- 8+ years of software testing and QA automation experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on Playwright automation experience.
- Strong experience designing and developing automation frameworks from scratch.
- Extensive experience in Web UI, API, and End-to-End automation testing.
- Strong programming skills in TypeScript and JavaScript.
- Experience in integrating automation solutions within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Git and source code management.
- Experience using Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.
- Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.
- Experience creating reusable libraries, utilities, and reporting solutions.
- Ability to lead automation initiatives and mentor junior QA engineers.
Desirable
- Contact Centre transformation or migration programme experience.
- Experience testing IVR platforms and call-flow journeys.
- Knowledge of call routing, queue management, and telephony systems.
- Experience validating agent desktop and supervisor desktop workflows.
- CRM integration testing experience.
- Voice and omnichannel customer interaction testing experience.
