MPP employees serve at the pleasure of the campus President. MPPs do not serve a probationary period and never receive permanent status.

Position Salary Range: $10,433 - $15,650 per month

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $12,000 - $12,500 per month.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

About the Department/Position:

Under the administrative direction of the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Executive Director of Admissions and Recruitment provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the University's admissions, recruitment, outreach, new student orientation, and integrated enrollment services. The Executive Director develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive enrollment strategies, programs, and services that support undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals while advancing student access, diversity, persistence, and success.

The Executive Director oversees admissions and recruitment operations through the effective use of data analytics, customer relationship management (CRM) technologies, predictive modeling, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled communication tools, and other enrollment technologies to enhance operational effectiveness, improve the prospective student experience, and support data-informed decision-making.

The Executive Director collaborates with campus partners, California State University campuses, K-12 school districts, California Community Colleges, community-based organizations, and other external stakeholders to strengthen enrollment pathways, expand educational access, and support student success.

*This position requires evening and weekend work.

Overview of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for all admissions, recruitment, outreach, visitor services, new student orientation, and integrated enrollment service functions.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate enrollment strategies that support undergraduate and graduate enrollment goals while advancing student diversity, access, equity, persistence, and degree completion.
  • Identify and develop enrollment opportunities among transfer students, adult learners, military-affiliated students, online learners, students with some college and no college degree, and other emerging student populations.
  • Utilize enrollment data, predictive analytics, and market intelligence to monitor enrollment trends, evaluate recruitment effectiveness, and inform strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Establish enrollment performance indicators, dashboards, and assessment measures to evaluate recruitment, admissions, enrollment conversion, and student engagement outcomes.
  • Monitor demographic, economic, workforce, and higher education trends to identify enrollment opportunities and inform strategic enrollment planning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in higher education administration, business administration, public administration, marketing, communications, or a related field, and five (5) to eight (8) years of progressively responsible professional experience in admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, student services, or a related field, including management or supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and trends of admissions, recruitment, enrollment management, and student services within higher education.
  • Knowledge of Title 5 regulations, CSU Executive Orders, federal and state laws, and university policies governing admissions and enrollment operations.
  • Knowledge of strategic enrollment planning, recruitment strategies, enrollment analytics, market research, and technology-enabled student engagement practices.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging enrollment technologies, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, predictive analytics, data visualization, AI-enabled communication tools, and workflow automation.
  • Demonstrated collaborative and inclusive leadership style with the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop professional and administrative staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Public Administration, Business Administration, Student Affairs, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Professional experience within the California State University system or another public higher education institution.
  • Experience leading admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management operations in a college or university setting.
  • Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, predictive analytics, AI-enabled communication tools, or other enrollment technologies to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
  • Experience implementing digital recruitment strategies, marketing automation, or other technology-enabled student engagement initiatives.
  • Experience developing partnerships with K-12 school districts, community colleges, community-based organizations, employers, or workforce development partners.
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives, workflow automation, or operational effectiveness projects.
  • Experience managing budgets, personnel, and organizational change initiatives.
