About the team
The Engineering team supports safe, reliable and efficient manufacturing operations by delivering capital projects, process improvements and engineering solutions that improve plant performance. The team works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning, Technology and Commercial teams, as well as regional and global engineering partners.
About the Role
- Lead the scoping, design and implementation of capital projects and plant improvement initiatives from concept through commissioning and handover.
- Provide engineering support for infrastructure, manufacturing optimization, continuous improvement and operational performance initiatives.
- Support project scope development, technical reviews, bid evaluations, contractor management, construction and commissioning activities.
- Participate in process safety reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs and risk assessments, developing engineering solutions that mitigate hazards and operational risks.
- Review and support Management of Change (MOC) activities associated with process, equipment and control-system modifications.
- Ensure projects and engineering solutions comply with applicable engineering standards, HSSE requirements, regulatory requirements and capital governance processes.
- Partner with Operations and cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes, improve asset performance and support new product and process introductions.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, contractors and stakeholders while supporting the development and application of engineering best practices.
Experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum five years of engineering experience within manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, food processing or a related process-manufacturing environment.
- At least three years of experience providing engineering support within an operating manufacturing facility.
- Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects through multiple phases, including scoping, design, construction, commissioning and implementation.
- Working knowledge of process safety, hazard analysis and risk-assessment practices.
- Experience applying engineering standards, technical requirements and safe engineering practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder-management skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations and other business functions.
