What will you do?
As a CloudOps & FinOps Engineer at Cat Digital's Slovakian branch, you will help operate, optimize, and govern Caterpillar's cloud environments while enabling engineering teams to deliver secure, reliable, and cost-efficient digital products.
You will:
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and shared services across AWS and Azure.
- Drive cloud cost visibility, governance, and optimization through FinOps best practices.
- Monitor cloud usage, performance, reliability, and security.
- Develop and maintain automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and business teams to improve operational excellence and cloud efficiency.
This position works directly with Slovakia-based engineering leadership and Cat Digital IT teams in the US.
What you have:
- Experience operating cloud environments in AWS and/or Azure.
- Understanding of CloudOps, FinOps, cloud governance, and security best practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or similar).
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
- Experience with cloud monitoring, observability, and incident management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working within an Agile environment.
Top Candidates will also have:
- Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps tools.
- Experience supporting multi-account AWS or multi-subscription Azure environments.
- Familiarity with cloud security and governance platforms.
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools.
- Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of API platforms such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Management.
- AWS certification.
