Role Overview:
The Senior Sales Manager, Global Paymentsis the senior commercial execution leader. The role owns sales strategy delivery, pipeline generation and conversion, key account growth, and achievement of revenue and gross profit targets across Cellulant's product portfolio.
This is a sales-first role. Unlike the Country Manager, it does not carry P&L ownership, regulatory stewardship, or operational risk leadership. The Senior Sales Manager, Global Payments works closely with the VP Ecommerce and telecommunication and Country Manager to accelerate market growth and strengthen commercial performance, and is the most senior dedicated commercial leader in-market where that structure exists.
The role may lead a sales team or operate as a senior individual commercial contributor, depending on market size and team structure.
What You'll do:
Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute the global sales strategy across E-commerce, Telecommunications and Airlines.
- Deliver new business, revenue and gross profit targets across priority markets.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of strategic enterprise opportunities.
- Identify new market, product and revenue opportunities within the global payments ecosystem.
Enterprise Sales & Business Development
- Lead the acquisition of strategic global and regional enterprise customers.
- Own complex, multi-market sales cycles from opportunity origination through commercial closure.
- Lead high-value RFPs, tenders and strategic commercial engagements.
- Develop compelling value propositions and business cases tailored to customer needs.
Sector Leadership
- Develop deep sector expertise and establish clear growth strategies for E-commerce, Telecommunications and Airlines.
- Identify sector-specific payment opportunities and emerging trends.
- Translate market insights into differentiated solutions, propositions and commercial opportunities.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Orchestrate internal teams across Product, Technology, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Customer Experience to deliver strategic opportunities.
- Drive resolution of commercial and operational blockers impacting deal progression and revenue realisation.
- Ensure effective transition from sales through implementation and account growth.
Market Expansion & Partnerships
- Identify and pursue opportunities for geographic expansion and entry into new markets.
- Build strategic partnerships that accelerate customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- Leverage ecosystem relationships to unlock new enterprise opportunities and payment corridors.
Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning
- Maintain strong knowledge of global payments, customer trends, competitors and emerging technologies.
- Monitor competitive positioning, pricing and market developments.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen the company's differentiation and market position.
What we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Technology, or related field.
- MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Significant progressive experience in enterprise sales, business development, or commercial leadership - depth and track record of delivery matter more than years.
- Strong background in fintech, payments, banking, telecommunications, or digital financial services.
- Proven record of delivering consistent revenue growth and managing large commercial pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience managing strategic customer relationships and enterprise sales cycles.
- Experience leading or coordinating a commercial team; coaching and developing commercial talent.
