Turn your university experience into career experience

Want to build your CV, develop your communication and marketing skills, and help other students get more from the digital learning tools available to them?

We’re looking for enthusiastic, creative and reliable students to join us as Cengage Student Ambassadors.

This is a flexible, paid opportunity designed to fit around your studies. You’ll become a student voice for Cengage at your university, helping fellow students get started with and make effective use of Cengage digital learning products.

Along the way, you’ll gain practical experience in areas including marketing, content creation, communication, peer support and student engagement - all while working with a global education company.

What will you do?

As a Cengage Student Ambassador, you’ll help students at your university get the most from the Cengage products available to them.

Your activities could include:

  • Helping fellow students get started with and use Cengage digital learning products
  • Supporting student onboarding sessions, in-class activities, demonstrations or peer Q&As
  • Creating social media content about Cengage products, student activities and your experience as an Ambassador
  • Writing student-focused content about your experience of digital learning
  • Creating a short video or testimonial about your experience with Cengage
  • Sharing authentic feedback and student perspectives with our team
  • Supporting selected Cengage marketing or student engagement activities
  • Attending training sessions and programme check-ins with the Cengage team

You won't be expected to know everything from day one. We'll provide training and guidance to help you understand our products, plan your activities and make the most of the programme.

Who are we looking for?

You don't need extensive work experience. We're much more interested in your enthusiasm, ideas and ability to connect with other students.

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Are currently enrolled as an undergraduate, postgraduate or PhD student
  • Study at an institution using a relevant Cengage digital learning product
  • Are a confident and friendly communicator
  • Enjoy helping and engaging with other students
  • Are organised, reliable and comfortable managing your own time
  • Can work independently and meet agreed deadlines
  • Are interested in creating content or using social media
  • Are comfortable getting involved in student-facing activities

Experience with social media, video creation, presenting, student societies, peer support or campus activities would be useful, but isn't essential.

What you'll get

As a Cengage Student Ambassador, you'll gain practical experience that you can add to your CV and talk about in future interviews, including:

  • Working with a global education and technology company
  • Marketing and social media experience
  • Content and video creation
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Student engagement and peer support
  • Experience managing your own activities and deadlines
  • The opportunity to share the student voice directly with Cengage

Most importantly, you'll play a role in helping fellow students get more from the digital learning tools designed to support their studies.

How does the programme work?

The programme is designed to fit around your studies. Rather than working fixed weekly hours, you'll complete a series of agreed activities and can organise much of the work around your own schedule.

Depending on your location and programme length, the expected commitment will be approximately 26 hours over a six-month programme or 37 hours over a nine-month/full programme.

You'll also attend three online training sessions and a programme check-in, giving you support and guidance throughout your time as an Ambassador.

Payment

This is a paid opportunity.

Depending on programme length and location, Ambassadors will receive:

£350 (or local equivalent) for the shorter/pro-rated programme, or

£500 (or local equivalent) for the full programme.

Payments will be made in stages during the programme, subject to completion of the agreed activities.

About Cengage

Cengage is a global education technology company helping millions of learners develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their goals.

As a Cengage Student Ambassador, you'll help us make sure our digital learning products don't just reach universities - they genuinely reach, engage and support the students they're designed for.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you.

Apply to become a Cengage Student Ambassador and turn your student experience into experience that can help shape your future career.
