At CGI, we help public sector organisations transform essential services, improve citizen outcomes and deliver lasting value through innovative technology. As a Solution Architect within our Central Government business, you’ll shape secure, scalable solutions that address complex challenges and support meaningful digital transformation. You’ll take ownership of architectural decisions, bring fresh thinking to solution design and collaborate with talented teams to turn ambitious ideas into practical outcomes. Working alongside clients and technology experts, you’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support to grow and the opportunity to influence services that make a real difference to communities across the UK.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. Whilst this is a hybrid position you will need to be required to work on client site in Swansea a minimum of 2 to 3 days a week.

Working closely with stakeholders, delivery teams and technology partners, you will translate complex business requirements into robust architectural designs, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, security requirements and delivery objectives.

You will play a key role in shaping technical strategy, providing architectural governance and guiding multidisciplinary teams throughout the solution lifecycle. • Develop & Deliver: Produce high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs), solution blueprints, architecture decision records and technical roadmaps.

• Lead & Collaborate: Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams, including developers, engineers, analysts, security specialists and DevOps practitioners.

• Govern & Assure: Maintain architectural integrity throughout implementation, ensuring compliance with security standards, technical requirements and delivery methodologies.

• Engage & Influence: Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, facilitating architecture workshops, design reviews and strategic technical discussions.

• Innovate & Improve: Identify opportunities to introduce new technologies, improve solution performance and deliver greater value for public sector clients.

• Support & Shape: Contribute technical expertise to business development activities, solution proposals and bid responses.

• Communicate & Advise: Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience working with government or public sector organisations would be particularly valuable.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven experience working as a Solution Architect, designing and delivering complex, secure and scalable technology solutions.

• Strong experience producing architectural documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, solution blueprints and technical roadmaps.

• Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, architectural governance and solution design methodologies.

• Demonstrable ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Experience providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary engineering and delivery teams.

• Strong understanding of security, integration, infrastructure and modern technology architectures.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior client representatives.
