We are seeking an accomplishedChief Government Affairs Officer to serve as the organization's senior government affairs executive and principal advisor to the President and Chief Executive Officer. This influential leader will drive ChristianaCare's legislative, regulatory, and public policy agenda while advancing strategic priorities that improve the health of the communities we serve.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the individual will represent ChristianaCare with policymakers, regulators, government agencies, trade associations, and community leaders, ensuring the organization's voice is heard at the federal, state, and local levels.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute ChristianaCare's federal, state, and local government affairs strategy.
- Advise executive leadership on emerging legislative, regulatory, and political developments.
- Lead appropriations and advocacy strategies that advance organizational priorities.
External Affairs & Advocacy
- Serve as ChristianaCare's senior representative with elected officials, regulators, and policy stakeholders.
- Build bipartisan relationships and coalitions that strengthen support for healthcare priorities.
- Develop compelling policy narratives and strategic messaging for internal and external audiences.
Legislative & Regulatory Strategy
- Monitor policy developments and assess organizational impact.
- Coordinate enterprise-wide responses to legislative and regulatory issues.
- Oversee lobbying activities, trade association engagement, and government affairs reporting.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing Government Affairs, Policy, and Regulatory Strategy team.
- Manage external lobbyists, consultants, and strategic partnerships.
- Establish accountability, priorities, and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, Business, Healthcare Administration, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative advocacy, healthcare, government, or a related field.

Annual Compensation Range $247,707.20 - $421,096.00This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
