Position: Food Service Assistant I
Location: Christiana Hospital - Newark Campus
Schedule: Casual (8 hours/week minimum)
Shifts: Available to work shifts - 6:30am - 9:30pm. Rotating - 6:30AM-3:00PM, 10:30AM-6:0PM, 3:00PM-9:00PM
Must be available to work a combination of all shifts listed above. Required to work every other weekend and holiday rotation.

About the Role
As a Food Service Assistant I, you’ll play a vital role in delivering nutritious meals and warm service to our patients. From assembling trays to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, your work will directly support healing and comfort.

What You’ll Do
Assemble patient meal trays with accuracy and care
Prepare trays for modified diets and understand dietary restrictions
Operate dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain cleanliness and follow infection prevention protocols
Demonstrate ChristianaCare’s core values in every interaction
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent preferred

This position has a starting rate of $17.80 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $20.90 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.93 per hour.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
