Position Purpose
The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy to drive profitable new business and acquire new customers. This role will work closely with local and regional sales leadership to chart business development strategies that are aligned with the company’s growth and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Identifies, qualifies and develops new business opportunities.
- Develops business development strategies that are aligned with the company’s growth plans.
- Keeps up with emerging markets trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining market intelligence reports and insights.
- Responsible for business segmentation strategies and action plan.
- Actively participates in offering development to ensure that it is aligned to emerging market trends and customer needs.
- Collaborates with Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies and manage marketing campaigns.
- Proposes and develops strategic partnerships that could enhance our customer offerings, market share and/ or competitive advantage.
- Actively seeks out new customers through networking, cold calling and attending industry events.
- Establishes and maintains new customer relationships.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in business, sales, marketing, engineering or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 10 years of B2B sales and/or business development experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering revenue growth, improving margin. performance, and managing complex commercial negotiations.
- Experience in service, technical, industrial, construction, fire/life safety, security, facilities, or related B2B markets is preferred.
- Experience in business development targeting main contractors, public sector, facilities/building operators and/or asset owners preferred.
- Experience in strategic partnership development and management.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and executive relationship-management skills.
