Junior Data Developer, Brazil

The Junior Data Engineer will support the design and maintenance of data pipelines and assist in delivering data solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for candidates who have foundational knowledge in data and software engineering and are eager to develop their skills in a modern data stack.

Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Support: Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes under the supervision of senior and mid-level engineers.
• Data Architecture Assistance: Support the implementation of data infrastructure components such as data lakes and warehouses as directed.
• Data Quality: Help apply data quality checks and participate in monitoring data consistency and reliability.
• Integration Support: Contribute to the development and maintenance of integrations between data sources and analytics platforms.
• Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and support the delivery of technical solutions.
• Documentation: Help maintain clear and up-to-date technical documentation for pipelines and processes.
• Learning & Growth: Actively participate in code reviews, team rituals, and learning opportunities to build engineering skills.
• Powered by AI: Be open to leveraging AI tools and automation to support data engineering tasks and workflows.

Requirements

• Basic familiarity with at least one major Cloud Platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
• Exposure to or coursework involving data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or similar)
• Good level of English - B2 or above
• Proficiency with SQL for data querying and manipulation
• Basic knowledge of at least one programming language (Python preferred)
• Foundational understanding of data concepts (ETL, data warehousing, data modeling)
• Willingness to work in an international, collaborative environment
• Proactive attitude and strong desire to learn

Nice to Have

• Academic or personal projects involving data pipelines or analytics
• Exposure to modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, etc.)
• Familiarity with Git and version control practices
• Spanish communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Any cloud or data-related certification or online course completion
