Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst

Citi is looking for a Senior Applications Developer to design and deploy reconciliation solutions that power critical financial operations across Latin America and beyond. In this role, you will work at the intersection of technology and financial operations, translating complex business requirements into robust, automated reconciliation systems within a global banking environment. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership of application delivery, working closely with regional operations teams and business stakeholders to build solutions that matter.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy reconciliation solutions using industry-standard reconciliation platforms, ensuring alignment with existing infrastructure and business requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and prioritize requirements from business users and subject matter experts, then transform them into scalable technology solutions.
• Configure reconciliation tools following established best practices to maximize available functionality and deliver optimal system performance.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver end-to-end project implementations within tight deadlines, managing all phases from design and construction through to testing and go-live.
• Manage regional application delivery across Mexico and LATAM in coordination with operations and upstream system teams, ensuring consistent and reliable deployments.
• Develop system specifications and provide L3 production support, maintaining stability and resolving complex issues across reconciliation environments.
• Identify and implement process automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency across reconciliation workflows.
• Recommend and implement security measures through post-implementation analysis to ensure robust system design and long-term functionality.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Five or more years of experience in application development within financial services, with direct involvement in reconciliation systems or financial operations ecosystems.
• Demonstrated expertise in Oracle or relational database technologies, with advanced SQL skills applied to complex data environments.
• Five or more years working in Linux or Unix environments, including hands-on shell scripting for automation and production support tasks.
• Solid understanding of data structures, interfaces, and data transfer protocols relevant to financial systems integration.
• Proven ability to manage full project lifecycles under a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) framework, including requirements management, change control, and application delivery.
• Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage competing deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent professional experience.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• Experience supporting or leading reconciliation projects across Mexico and the broader LATAM region.
• Professional proficiency in both English and Spanish, enabling effective collaboration with regional stakeholders.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office tools, particularly for building reports and analytical outputs for business users.
• Familiarity with consulting or project management methodologies that support structured delivery across cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior analysts within a technology delivery team.
