IT Project Lead – Transformation & Agile Delivery - VP

Citi is looking for an experienced IT Project Lead to drive large-scale transformation programmes across technology and operations, owning end-to-end project delivery from initiation through to measurable outcomes. In this role, you will serve as a recognised authority on project management practice, guiding cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders to deliver complex, high-impact initiatives on time and within budget. This is a high-visibility position where your ability to combine structured PMO disciplines with Agile delivery will directly shape the performance and effectiveness of a critical business area.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver multiple large-scale, multi-disciplinary transformation projects simultaneously, maintaining clear accountability for scope, budget, timelines, and measurable outcomes.

• Define project scope and objectives in close partnership with technology, operations, and business teams, translating stakeholder needs into structured, executable project plans using PMO best practice.

• Apply Agile and Scrum frameworks to manage iterative delivery, facilitating sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and continuous improvement cycles across project teams.

• Track and report project progress through robust MI, producing clear and concise executive-level status reports, risk logs, and milestone updates for senior stakeholders and clients.

• Proactively identify project risks and emerging issues, applying root cause analysis to resolve blockers and escalate control concerns with full transparency.

• Embed sound project management practices across teams, coaching project participants on task decomposition, dependency management, and lessons-learned disciplines.

• Communicate project milestones, escalation issues, and change control decisions to all relevant parties, ensuring stakeholders at every level remain aligned and informed.

• Ensure all project decisions and business actions uphold Citi's standards for risk management, regulatory compliance, and ethical conduct.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 6-10 years of project management experience, gained within financial services, mortgage, or a similarly regulated environment.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver large-scale transformation programmes with quantifiable outcomes across both financial and operational measures.

• Hands-on experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery frameworks, with the ability to act as Scrum Master and guide teams through iterative delivery cycles.

• Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel for project metrics, data analysis, and reporting, combined with the ability to produce polished, executive-level PowerPoint presentations.

• Skilled in developing and managing project plans, tracking dependencies, assessing scope changes, and communicating the impact on budget, timeline, and risk.

• Proficient in MS Project, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Professional alongside the full MS Office suite.

• Committed to continuous professional development, maintaining current awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving project management methodologies.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

• PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification is strongly preferred.

• Agile or Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) is advantageous, though equivalent practical experience will be considered.

• Six Sigma qualification or practical experience applying process improvement techniques within a project context.

• Active use of AI tools within a project environment, with the ability to demonstrate established use cases that have contributed to transformation acceleration or cost reduction.
