Citi is one of the largest banks in the world, tracing its lineage to the City Bank of New York founded in 1812 and taking its modern shape through the 1998 merger that created Citigroup. Its most distinctive asset is a cross-border payments and treasury network unmatched by any competitor, moving trillions of dollars a day for multinational corporations, governments and other banks across roughly ninety countries. Alongside that institutional franchise it runs markets and investment banking, wealth management and a United States personal bank, and has spent recent years simplifying itself by exiting consumer operations across Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Shape the investment conversation that reaches Citi's most sophisticated wealth clients across EMEA as a Senior Portfolio Advisor, bridging the CIO's market views with the advisors and clients who act on them every day.

This role sits within Citi's Wealth CIO team, a global group of multi-asset strategists who translate market research into actionable investment ideas for advisors and clients around the world. The Senior Portfolio Advisor will serve as a trusted voice for the CIO's strategy, partnering closely with field leadership, research, and product teams to turn investment views into real client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver clear, centralized messaging on the CIO Team's strategy, market views, and performance to field teams and clients across EMEA.
  • Partner with field leadership to identify business development opportunities and shape strategic plans for business targets.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the broader CIO Team, including research, portfolio management, product, and innovation functions, on messaging and product development priorities.
  • Contribute to the investment process alongside the CIO Strategy team, helping form views and underwrite recommendations for full portfolios as well as thematic and tactical opportunities.
  • Work with investment solutions teams to align priority recommendations with current market views and new product development.
  • Identify and launch cross-business opportunities in collaboration with coverage teams and investment solutions partners.
  • Maintain full compliance with Citi policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Extensive experience developing and implementing investment strategies, ideally across EMEA markets.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with disciplined, process-oriented execution.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality across both internal collaboration and external partnerships.
  • Deep knowledge of global markets and multi-asset class portfolio construction.
  • Thorough understanding of the wealth management industry and competitor products and services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, paired with strong interpersonal and relationship management abilities.
  • Experience communicating investment ideas across varied audiences and formats, including public speaking and written content.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Beneficial Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree in finance, economics, or a related field.
