Front-End Team lead

As a Front-End Team Lead at Via’s Tel Aviv R&D center, you will lead a talented group of engineers in building the technology powering our Operation Center-the real-time heartbeat of our global service. This is a highly impactful, mission-critical role combining people leadership, technical ownership, and product impact. You will shape our Front-End architecture and foster a culture of high-quality craft, directly shaping the daily lives of hundreds of thousands of riders. We are looking for a high-agency leader who leverages modern AI to outpace traditional workflows, continuously driving your team's growth and elevating the way we build products.

About the Role:

• Lead and mentor Front-End engineers, supporting their professional growth and helping them reach their full potential.
• Own both the people and operational aspects of the team, ensuring effective execution and continuous improvement.
• Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Take ownership of improving development processes, engineering practices, and the way the team works.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to build impactful user experiences.
• Understand the product deeply and make technical decisions that create real value for users.
• Implement and improve Front-End tools and libraries used across Via.Improve the user experience across Via’s platform.

About You:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a similar field.
• At least 2 years of experience leading and managing a team of engineers5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with React or similar Front-End frameworks.
• Strong technical abilities with the ability to quickly understand complex systems and make thoughtful decisions.
• Experience with architecture, system design, and code reviews.
• A proactive and ownership-driven mindset, with a passion for continuously improving products and processes.
• Experience with map-based application development (Mapbox, Google JS SDK, etc.) - an advantage.Experience with backend development (Python) - an advantage.
