The company currently operates a .NET Core monolithic platform, which is being migrated to its own Azure infrastructure and gradually transformed into a modern microservices-based ecosystem.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who will take ownership of designing, implementing, and operating the infrastructure supporting this transformation.
This is a hands-on role with significant technical ownership, working closely with a small team and directly with the client.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement Azure infrastructure for a microservices ecosystem, including hosting, containers, PaaS, networking, environments, and cost management.
- Set up and manage the client's Azure subscription and migrate the existing DataVault platform without disrupting business operations.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, covering build, testing, deployment, and promotion across environments.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep or Terraform.
- Containerize applications using Docker and manage the deployment of services.
- Operate asynchronous messaging infrastructure such as RabbitMQ and other queues/brokers, while evaluating managed alternatives such as Azure Service Bus.
- Manage SSO and identity infrastructure using Keycloak, including realm backups and environment-specific configuration.
- Implement secrets management, IAM/RBAC, security hardening, and network security using Azure services such as Key Vault.
- Design and maintain backup and restore strategies, including tested restores, disaster recovery, and local recovery capabilities.
- Implement and maintain observability solutions, including logging, metrics, monitoring, and alerting.
- Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure costs.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of production environments supporting business-critical operations.
What We're Looking For
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly compute and container hosting technologies such as:
- Azure App Service
- Azure Container Apps
- AKS
- Azure VMs
- Azure SQL
- Blob Storage / Table Storage
- Azure Networking
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, using Bicep or Terraform.
- Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Azure DevOps is preferred; experience with GitHub Actions or GitLab CI is also valuable.
- Solid knowledge of Docker and container orchestration.
- Experience working with message brokers, such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, or Kafka.
- Experience with identity providers, particularly Keycloak or similar solutions.
- Hands-on experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery in production environments.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools, such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or Azure Monitor.
- Experience supporting and maintaining production systems that are critical to business operations.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and ownership mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating infrastructure between Azure subscriptions or tenants.
- Experience taking ownership of or modernizing infrastructure that was inherited with limited or no documentation.
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-400, or equivalent.
- Experience operating SQL Server environments.
- Familiarity with .NET applications. C# development experience is not required.
How We Work
You'll join a small, highly collaborative team where you'll have direct interaction with the client and real influence over technical decisions. We leverage AI tools such as Claude and Cursor throughout the development lifecycle, including infrastructure and DevOps work. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working with AI-assisted development and infrastructure workflows, while maintaining the technical judgment needed to understand, validate, and challenge the solutions these tools propose.
If you enjoy building infrastructure from the ground up, solving complex technical challenges, and having real ownership over production environments, this could be a great opportunity.
